mccoy4 - composing the bug report
mccoy6 - no tickets (including previous tickets), nor the tickets submitted on website, although I'm not sure if they should show up there.
(Also note notification that ticket was successfully submitted)
I have the same issue as I just resubmitted a ticket because I didnt see the first one..neither show up in the window but i get alerts that they have been filed
You will always get the alerts they are hard coded into the programming for that button. Its kind of a notification that your ticket has been sent.
As to the tickets not showing up, Well that is because they are not there. The in game bug reporting button has been broken longer than I have been playing and I started before F2P happened years ago. The former community leader, Our good AmbassadorKaels predecessor, Laughing trendy, even said on her twitter account that the button is broken and does not submit the tickets at all. To submit a bug report, you have to go to the ARC website and submit it there, as doing so in game has zero effect.
hahaha, I've been doing that 'go to the ARC website and submit it there' and they've been telling me to post my issue here.
Funny thing is - I also submitted this McCoy quest bug (the example I showed in the screenshots - yes it is an actual bug) and the rep told me to post through the in game bug error reporting.

What alerts are you talking about? Do you mean the messages in the [System] channel telling you the ticket number?

When did she say that? Do you have a link? I always thought that even though the search function is broken, the bug reports are still sent. The server clearly generates a new ticket number each time a bug report is submitted. Are you saying that it generates new ticket numbers for no reason and simply sends the bug reports down a black hole? If in-game bug reports are never sent, then the devs should confirm this so that we don't waste our time.
"What alerts are you talking about? Do you mean the messages in the [System] channel telling you the ticket number?"
Yes those are the ones
"When did she say that? Do you have a link?" No I don't have a link as the account has been closed down plus it was over a year or two ago.

Its not the server that is generating the ticket but the game itself, client side. The tickets are sent somewhere but nobody not even at Cryptic knows where they go. As for the Devs confirming this....Like I said its been like this since before I started playing and that was before Free to play hit. Nothing has changed. Your best bet to submit a bug report is to use the ARC website, or post it on Reddit, posting here is okay but those two are the best for bugs..
Just keep one thing in mind, if a bug is to the benefit of the player it gets immediate attention. If it benefits Cryptic, bottom of the list. ie the McCoy bug. Benefits cryptic by keeping players logged in and trying to run the mission to complete it, there for bottom of the list. A bug that provides extra xp or dil, benefits the player, bug is a priority.
I would love for a Dev to tell me I am wrong on this BTW, and explain how this works.

It is impossible that the client is generating the ticket numbers, because the ticket numbers increase. This is clear not only from my ticket numbers, but from the ticket numbers other people have posted. On Holodeck, the ticket numbers are now in the 4 millions. In Season 9, they were in the the 2 millions. Before then, they were even lower. The ticket numbers increase globally for all players. The client contacts the server to obtain a ticket number. Whether it actually submits the bug report, that I do not know.
On Tribble, in-game bug reports currently cannot be submitted. Every time I try, I get the error message
[System] [TicketError] Could not connect. Please try again later.
This was broken over a year ago. But when it was working, Tribble ticket numbers were in the 50 thousands.

Based on your following statements, I think you have the red part reversed — probably a typo.
If a bug is beneficial to a player ie extra dilithium or XP it will be fixed immediately, to correct the imbalance. If the bug benefits cryptic by keeping the player in game for longer amounts of time, ie the McCoy bug. It can take months to fix.

No Problem, have fun and look me up in game if you want to run a mission or two. Feel free to pick my brain if needed as well.
