Science Capt. in a Temporal Escort?

hillard1959hillard1959 Member Posts: 197 Arc User
I'm thinking about rolling a Science captain and eventually placing him in my Theseus temporal escort. I'd like to use the temporal rep beams and engines (as part of a theme, not looking for top DPS necessarily). What I'm hung up on is where I should place my points in the skill trees. Going Science heavy should be a given, with plenty of Temporal powers slotted to make the whole thing worth it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Here's a 15/15/16 general and balanced build skill tree I use on several toons that does well in a variety of ships that is science heavy so should do well with temporal and and science powers. The only things I sometimes change up are the 2 extra points in hull plating, 3rd point in long range targeting sensors, and points into co-ordination protocols (in case you need those points elsewhere).

    Thanks. :)

I rolled a science officer a few minutes ago. Going to try him out for a little bit and have him fly strictly escorts, just to see how comfortable that is. If it doesn't pan out, well, at least I'll get some free crafting mats out of it.

What I'm thinking is to load up the Theseus heavily with Temporal powers and use Temporal reputation beams to help keep shields up. It will either be fun and interesting, or it will be a complete bust.

Ended up respeccing my Tac officer instead. Now he's specced out for both Energy Weapon damage and exotic damage, with much better results than I had previously. Hitting a group of ships with GWI, TCIII and the console torp means nearly instant death for anything caught in it. :D

I ended up placing a Science Captain in the Paladin instead. Man, is that great fun. Just need to get my reputations and crafting traits up to really polish it off.
