Finally gone and done it

Yep, never happened to me before, but today I accidentally sold 20 keys for the price of 10. :( Naturally they were immediately gone. No naming & shaming, of course -- if for nothing else, because it's really just my own fault -- but I'm nonetheless saddened. Naturally emailed them, but, equally naturally, to no avail. Homo homini lupus est, as they say.

Would be nice, though, if Exchange protected you from obvious mistakes like this (like warning you, and asking for confirmation, if you sell like 50% less the going value).

Anway, feeling rather groggy. Probably made someone happy today, and I guess that's something.

it happens, think about it this way...most set the price to 10% of what it is actual worth...you only lost 50%. that is not as bad as the errors of others, myself included.

I'm guessing there must be players out there who missed a zero off when selling something like the Temporal Light Cruiser - now that would be painful!

Yeah, that would truly drive me insane. :) At the end of the day, this was just 1,125 Zen: about the same as I got in bonus Zen today.

P.S. I always take the precaution of splitting off my keys in stacks of 20, so I will only ever lose 20 max. Still, Murphy's Law kicked in, regardless. :)

If you need cheering up and you haven't done so yet, go and play Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Defo made me feel better after recent dramas I had to live through. :)
Who am I kidding though? You probably pre-ordered the game, read the countdown and started it the second it got released :D

The only true protection is absolute paranoia when posting things on the exchange. That's what I've come to after similar mistakes.

Perhaps break them into stacks of 10 from now on?

Will you believe it, I only got it yesterday!? :) Suddenly saw it on STEAM, and immediately bought it, of course. Going it to play it tonight.

And thanks for cheering me up: that LiS reminder *did* put a smile on my face! :)

My condolences. It happends. Best to get it out of your system and move on...which you seem to have done. And if you feel down, just think, it could have been worse. You could have sold the 20 keys for the price of 2. The most common error is the lack of a zero after all.

Yep, grogginess lingered for a while, but has gone by now. :) Indeed, considering what others lost (before they added standard comma's to the system), I basically came off with a slap on the wrist for my mistake.

I only sell them singly after I had taken off a stack of 10 in Inventory. I then break them into ten single 'piles'. No chance of error and now that the Post area automatically adds commas or whatever separator when you type in the price there is no chance of error there either.

Take a few extra seconds to make your fortune. Rushing will only get you back to the grind quicker. Yippee!!! ;)

Sorry to hear man, always sucks when something like this happens.

As others have said though, at least you're not going in the exchange blunder hall of fame for that one, it stings but wasn't too bad overall. That leaving a zero off the end on a Temporal Light Cruiser example would be absolutely rage inducing.

Unless of course, you were the one that bought it. :)

I'm inclined to say I'd give it back under those circumstances, tbh: keeping it just would be too cruel. But, total truth be told, there's also a chance my presumed halo might fall right off if I actually got one that way. Let's not go there.

Um, not to nitpick, but that's not "worse" at all. In fact, it's exactly the same as my situation: I basically gave 10 keys away for free, and you didn't receive any EC for your 10 keys. :)

I once deleted an email I sent to a new character filled with crafted level-up mark II gear, with superior tech upgrades already applied. That was worth about 3 million at today's prices, plus the time spent crafting piles of gear to get decent mods. D'oh!

Bummer. Sorry to hear that. It's a finicky system and mistakes of that sort are alarmingly easy to make. I've mis-listed once or twice and was fortunate enough to take them down before it went astray but that feeling in the pit of your stomach is not fun even when you do catch it.

when i was apart of this fleet in 2011 before they brought me over to swtor in mid 2011, one thing i forgot to pick up was a borg analyser kit mk x from the bank i had left there, at the time that kit was very valuable. i left that fleet not long after and realised i had lost a borg kit years later when i remember i forgot to remove it from that guild bank. an easy 20 million credits lost at the time (this was before the new kits came in).

I also remember when my brother told me many years back on a game called Runescape, whatever that is. He mentioned some person died in some place and dropped some very valuable gear, in the hundreds of millions of coins range. Just imagine how that person must of felt losing that much great gear only for someone else to pick it up without going through the same trouble to get it.

There is a point to all this, money and items can be regained, but if you feel discouraged from trying after what has happened then it really is a lost cause, but if you work at it and don't give up, you will regain what you lost over time. As @Reyan01 mentioned:

I read the OP's thread title and thought for a moment they were quitting the game. Damn. Better luck--for me--next time. I wish I'd have bought those mispriced keys too.

For bulk items, the exchange should really allow you to withdraw your offer and not show up for any potential buyers at least a minute.

I feel you... It is like the Fleet Credit donation option (It should done away with frankly)... It looks very similar to the Fleet Marks and there is no confirmation.. I lost about 200k FC to an armada fleet one night before I realized what I did.. Funny the fleet did not allow FM donations but credits and ECs OK - That is some BS there... Now I dont even bother if a fleet prohibits anything I just skip trying to help...

the worst exchange good i've ever made still remains the time i stuck a frequency remod on the exchange for the purpose of EC transfer (long before account banks came out, obviously) and bought the wrong one...cost me 10m EC on that goof
