Bad frames issue

Hello all,

I am sure you have seen topics like this jump up quite regularly, but I am at a loss and cannot figure out any work around.

So here is the issue:

Recently reinstalled Win 10 on my system, with that having to reinstall games. So I reinstalled STO on my system and put it onto my SSD. When I went to launch the game, everything was going smooth. Seemed quite nice. But suddenly when I went in-game in sector space, my frame rate was at 10 FPS, so initially I went to graphics options and fiddled around to try and solve the issue, but, no matter what I do/did in graphics settings my frames would not budge from 7-14 frames. I then went to the romulan flotila and my frames were typically around 30-50, with again, no change no matter what I do to my graphic settings.

I have also tried " -d3d11enable 0 -d3d9 "in my command line.

My graphics driver is all updated, so that is not an issue. No windows updates as well.

Specs:

16GB DDR4 RAM
i5-6600K PROCESSOR
GTX 960 GPU
Liquid Cooled
850 PWR supply

My system used to run this game completely fine at 60 frames, not sure what messed this up.

Please help?

You have to reinstall Windows 10 there's no other way. I had the same problem and a few people too. Installing Windows 10 new is the only way.

Right click on the desktop, then click nVidia Control Panel.

In the Manage 3D global settings make sure the "preferred graphics processor" is set to High Performance.

In the program settings tab, make sure the "preferred graphics processor" for STO is also set to High Performance.

Otherwise, the game will be using the Intel HD 530 graphics core when playing STO.

" -d3d11enable 0 -d3d9 " has no effect on the game since STO does not support anything less than DirectX 10 as of March / April this year when Lighting 2.0 went live.
