A personal request

some ppl might think the class of ship I'm requesting here is not cannon, but there have been many reffrences made to single warp Nacell ships in the Trek universe the base class is the Larson class where the Nacell is at the top point of a triangle going up from the saucer section, then there is the up grade versions from the TOS movie erra the Saladin class where the nacell is on a single pylon below the saucer section and the Freedom class ( TNG erra) that is based on the same design of the Saladin class and there are alot of webpages that show diffrent varriants of this type of ship, I personaly would love and pay for one of these ships and to put it in todays terms of Naval combat ships there are the equivalent of the Destroyer class. So I will be abit anoying with me constantly asking for this calss of ship to be made avail as a player ship, and here is a suggestion on how to make it a Tier 6, put a LTCMD Pilot/ Tactical and a Lt. intell / tactical slot, a CMD engineering, and a LTCMD Science station for this would really make this class of ship worth playing

While single nacelle ships have appeared in various manuals and table top games. Can you point to any on screen reference other than the U.S.S. Kelvin from 2009?

Hello.I have a personal request too.I wasn't sure where to post this, but i e-mailed my thoughts in,the the person who replied encouraged me to post it in the forums to see what people think.I was asking for the possibility of an offline mode for the game. Here's my concerns.I suffer from a learning disability, and my reflexes, coordination, etc.are not as fast or well as a normal person's.As a result there are many things in life i can't do as well as other people. With many video games, the difficulty of the games can be too hard for me,due to my disability.I've also had bad luck with past Star Trek games, some have had really bad controls, and some have been way to hard for me,even on the lowest difficulty setting.I am enjoying Star Trek Online because it has the best controls i've ever worked with in a Star Trek game before, plus the difficulty is just right for me.Since there's unlimited respawns,i can still eventually clear a space battle, even if i get blown up 3 or 4 times. Also,i have been asking for the game to be on a physical disc if we could get an offline mode.I am playing on a PS4 and so far so good, but i've had a few Playstation and Xbox systems die on me before and have had to replace them. With download games,i'd have to download the game all over again, and if the game is discontinued, then i'm at a point where i can't play a favorite game anymore because it isn't available for download anymore.I don't like that about download-only games. At least if i have an offline game on disc, yeah i would have to start all over, but i would prefer that rather than not being able to play the game again.Since i am having a good time with the controls and difficulty of Star Trek Online,i'm saddened by the fact that there will come a day where i won't be able to play the one Star Trek game i really like anymore, due to it not having an offline mode, and not being on a physical disc. Thanks for your time.

If you think about it the Wells class and the larger varients based on the design or look are all single nacelle with it being the centeral cone shaped nacelle. So yeah that would be cool but make it a TOS timeline ship like the Saladin Class Scout and Destroyer in the Star Trek Tech manual

If they did make a one nacelle ship for the game then they would probably have to make it a special class of its own to justify the single nacelle design.
I stream on Twitch, look for Avoozl_

these single warp Nacell ships could be listed as a Light Escort ( Destroyer), I did said ppl would not agree that its cannon, now not sure IF anyone ever played Stra Fleet Command 1threw 3 but in those games they had the Single warp nacell ships avail as Destroyers, there are also alot of fan made drawings and art work out there and I belive there are a few 1980's & 1990's trek commics that have a picture of the single war nacell ship class in it, and now to address the deflector dish location, it was more like a Radar dish under the saucer section of the ship, the star drive was incorparated into the saucer section and if you looked at the Aft section one can see the Impulse engines, and those who do not agree with my request, well to each their own

    You have my vote OP
I love the TOS single nacelle scout ship. Saladin and Hermes class...
    It's a very cute ship.

I remember them being in Star Trek Legacy for Xbox and Nintendo DS version of the game.
And STO is far from being canon correct, so lets just can the non canon arguments already. Get them in the game. Many people love the way they look !

And since they were allowed to use the Kelvin timeline Enterprise design. If lucky we can get to use the layout of the Kelvin herself.
I liked the single nacelle underneath with the secondary hull above the saucer. It looked interesting.

I have no issues with having single nacelle ships in the game. I'd welcome them. That said, comics & games are not canon, and ships from those comics & games will not be available for Cryptic to add to STO due to licensing issues. Similarly to how only a limited amount of the material from the Trek animated series is usable by STO. The ship designs from the Franz Joseph Technical Manual are completely off limits, despite one being seen on screen in TMP, because of disputes between Gene, Franz, & the franchise owners. So there are other factors than just canon or non-canon to be considered. Honestly the Kelvin class is probably the easiest for them to get & most likely of all the single nacelle ships to ever be added.

Ehhh yeah, you got me curious and I read a little about Franz...
That's too bad the way things worked out.

Still, it makes me wonder how other games were able to get permission to use some of the Joseph designs, while STO can not.. ? Seems there is a way if the right people were contacted.

Or I may be missing something from the story. *shrug* nevertheless that was an interesting read.
