Second Star To the Right And Straight on til you get Bugged

Ok so this is my 1st post and its not for the best of circumstances, I am trying to complete the Mission "second star to the right and....." but once i get to the point of finishing my interrogation of the USS DeWitts captain, i am beamed to sector space and cannot reenter the Alhena system, I can only complete a daily distress call mission that also resides there.
I have dropped the mission numerous times and get the same result im not sure what i am doing wrong (or even if it is my fault) But im hoping someone here has had the same problem, I never seem to get GM's to reply to my reports and i kinda spammed them this time so doubt they will reply. Just wanna know if its a lost cause, Its annoying that such a good game has a few serious flaws.
