Test Play and Area Level Limits?

Okay, so I've been an STO player since shortly after launch and started using the Foundry as soon as they introduced it. Unfortunately I've been away for some time (roughly a year) and jumping back into the game and the Foundry is proving somewhat daunting.

I had a number of missions published before I stopped playing and, not surprisingly, all but one of them is now no longer published. I'm guessing this will be because of either a lack of activity on my part or on updates to the game that will have broken the missions.

Long story short I'm trying to update all my missions and republish them before starting work on new ones, the problem is that while attempting to test play and check the one that is still published I ran into a little problem. My Foundry test captain is around level 5 and the starting point for the mission is the Donatu System on the border of Klingon space. Every time I try to get there (at a painfully slow warp 5) I am given a pop up telling me to turn back and then an automatic warp back into Fed space.

My main question is how do I test play this now? Is there a way to disable this limit in the Foundry? Is there an easy way to increase my captain's level so that this is no longer an issue? Please someone help me this is infuriating.

thanks to the map transfer bug you won't be able to test your map with "play from start" option (unless they've fixed that bug) and you'll have to test each map seperate (or publish a WIP test version of the mission).

as for disabling area level limits or boosting your captain level as far as I know there's no way to do that.

It is possible to fully level a Foundry test captain (Markhawkman's done it FED side) but that shouldn't be necessary just to test missions. As Spiritborn said, you have to test maps individually given the fact that map transfers do not work in the Foundry editor ATM (published missions are fine.) Even if the OP reached the Donatu System, they would not be able to proceed with the mission from that point. So, work around for the time being.

    Thanks for the answers.

It's unfortunate to hear that the Foundry is still rife with bugs. I really wish they gave it even slightly more attention. Hard to believe the build is still only 0.8 Beta.

Hopefully they fix the map transfer bug soon because I can see that quickly becoming a very tedious issue to work around considering the loading times within the Foundry...

Oh well, guess I'll just soldier on as best I can for now.

It's really an unavoidble effect of a game as big as complex as STO that some parts get less attention then others, even WoW has that dispite Blizzard having a much larger production team, in fact WoW:legion is infamous of having anything that wasn't hardcore raiding at nearly 0% dev attention.
