Todays reward for f2p was 1 blue (15k) 2 green (50k) ec boxes, 1 green (50) marks box and 1 purple (300) mark box
LTS took a good 10-15 minutes wait to get in so system is maybe already starting to fail at enticing people into places because of the weak reward box contents.
Anyway their reward box was green (50k) ec box, 3 green (1k) dil ore boxes and a blue (2.5k) dil ore box.
While getting dilithium is certainly better than credits it still highlights how bad the loot selection system is when it can spit out multiples of the same reward.

What's bad about that? I'd much rather get 5 copies of the dil box than anything else.
More like 10. At most. And only for a toon that isn't played often enough to have a ready supply of ore already.
Right. That would make every single one of mine. My thinking:
What is the point of even collecting so much unrefined dilithium, if you can't refine it?
Cryptic made an overture to casual players...to put some time to the stuff that they normally don't.
So, other people can do some content they haven't got to do in a long time.
I am happy to have something this easy!!!!!

The fact that you can only do one endeavor per account means there is no excuse not to have long-shot rewards. ^
It is, also, no excuse to not partake in the endeavor for an extremely small amount of time or effort expended.
I don't think it was created to be something to impress space rich Ferengis.
Maybe if they ever add "Ultra Rare" or "Epic" levels of prizes, it would "move the needle on your meter".
But, meantime, it looks like you will have to find your "oo-mox" elsewhere. So sorry.

The devs didn't actually confirm that there wasn't higher rarities, that was just me noting what Kael got doing some assignments on Tribble (which was dev confirmed to be the same as what Holodeck has now.) Plus another user also testing then posting on Youtube, since Tribble was enabled with 10 Endeavors at time (unsure of now) he opened several boxes at a time after going through several easy ones.
Nearly positive that there is not a 'common' rarity, though.
Ah, I see. So, the game is still on.
I shall continue to hold out hope that someone FINDS a prize box with Ultra Rare or Epic, then.
I removed the "Common (White)" from the list last night.

Yeah, I am noticing it even here....
Not getting much information after day one on the release of the new Endeavor missions.
Maybe they should adjust it so it can be completed 3-5 times per account...instead of just once.

Right. That would make every single one of mine. My thinking:
What is the point of even collecting so much unrefined dilithium, if you can't refine it?
There isn't any. But if you play actively on the same toon it'll build up, because everything you do rewards it.
There certainly is no point spending refined dilithium to get ore, even if you were actually guaranteed to get it instead of just random chance. The crafting endeavor was definitely in the "never do this" -category.

500DL is such an infinitesimal amount...it is surprising one can not part with it.
I can refine that by making a visit to my Fleet's Dilithium Mine and doing the 5 second DOFF assignment.
Eh...there is no "active playing" over here. I sign on once or twice a day for maybe an hour a pop. Weekends a bit longer. I have 7 characters to switch around to and I will stop collecting the ore all together if I have an over stock...just do other things.

Yes, but if you refine 8000 every day...and have been for years.... 500 is not even a drop in the bucket.
Matter of fact, I would even say: even on characters you only turn in Contraband on every day and refine 2000...it is still a drop in the bucket.
Besides...not doing anything with dilithium (or any other game currency) what is the point? It will mean nothing when your character would go to the big electronic trash heap in the sky....rich but never attempted to enrich their experiences.

That's still not the point. You can refine 8000 every day...unless you waste 500 of that on a stupid endeavor that rewards something you could get for free pretty much everywhere else.
Or you could get 10,000DL...or more. Depending on the roll.
Besides that issue is probably better posted to Ambassador Kael's thread about the Endeavor System..not here. Ask them to change it to craft simpler/cheaper items for that mission.

You also get the component, which is the whole point of the project. The endeavor reward is just a bonus to doing a certain activity. Call it a bad deal all that you want, it doesn't make it objectively so.
The fact that you can only do one endeavor per account means there is no excuse not to have long-shot rewards. ^
It's also no reason to put them in. Just because you want something is not a reason for it to be there. Sort of like a C-store or other cheaper version of a Promo box ship that you want the model of. Both things would have an impact on the money that this game makes. C-store consumables or whatever else in the endeavor boxes at a very low rate would be significantly less, but it would still impact the bottom line.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
