Flags on Risa Biathalon bugged.

lordsteve1lordsteve1 Member Posts: 3,492 Arc User
Ran the biathalon race event and the end flags seemed to be bugged so that most of the players could not grab them, even when stood on top of them. They did disappear eventually but i have no idea if anyone actually got to pick them up or not, certainly a lot of people trying.

Then after all of us standing there like idiots the whole race finish line vanished and we got nothing, zero rewards.

Something seriously bugged there guys.

Can confirm. Done the race a few times now, and each time, there'es no interact option to claim rewards.

i did it twice and grabbed the 2nd place flag the 2nd time even though i went as slow as possible to try and stay on the course. there seems to be many opportunities to be disqualified and it's not super clear if you have been. the first time i did it i was disqualified and could not grab a flag. i think it's very touchy about leaving the course, when you can activate the floater, and going through the circles.

I recently noticed an invisible (at least on my screen) checkpoint on the beach at the switch that might be the cause of the issue. Don't hit the checkpoint, can't grab a flag at the end.

I came im 8th or so because I had a standard floater and everyone passed me effortlessly. Reaching the goal I saw a bunch of players around the 1st place flag, I landed calmly and took it. And then I took second place too, by accident. Got both accolades. Whee xD

yeah i was looking for the checkpoint and haven't seen it yet. i must have found it once and not the other time as i got the message from the girl saying activating the floater is a paddling.

Yeah, like last time I ran it, the checkpoint was visible, and I managed to get it, even finished first, before someone stole my flag.

is it on the ramp? do you have to click on it?

I think just fly through the arch, but yeah, the first few times, it didn't spawn. I guess just hit the brakes a bit in the final sea leg to make sure it loads.

I tried this game once today. The point where one switches from Power Boards to Floaters....I got a pop up that said to interact with a flag...but never saw a thing to interact with.

I just ran up the ramp, and put on my floater and started going through rings. I got third place because I think I left everyone else on the beach trying to figure out "What flag???"

Yeah it's not very clear exactly what is causing this. I've seen a LOT of players just standing around at the end not having a clue what happened as there's no obvious message they were disqualified.

And the change from the board to floater seems a bit hit n' miss, is there meant to be an interact there or is it just a "gate" you have to pass through?

I think what the prompt means is to be sure to pass the last gate before changing to the floater. The last blue gate, not the small ramp.

I think I've narrowed it down even more that this. If you see the ramp to the first floater portal there is a little flat/banner thing over it, THIS is the flag it refers to.

It doesn't look like a flag really so the text instruction is quite confusing. I only found out by doing the race on a map with no other players to get my bearings.
They REALLY need to make things clearer and pass things through their QA dept a bit more.

Just make sure to go under that banner thing on the ramp before you activate your floater. It'll make the chime noise you get when you interact with some things. Then it's safe to turn on the floater and go through the rings.

I have found this event to be quite disappointing and will be skipping it. Building sandcastles will have to do.

i've looked into this more closely now and it's working all right. you have to go through the banner on the small ramp in front of the first hoop. hopefully you can hear the happy little chime meaning you did something good. at that point you can activate your floater. the intent is for it to be in mid air while still zooming with the power board for a seamless transition. i haven't tried this yet as i'm trying to be sure not to get disqualified.

the race is pretty cool really. difficult to stay on the course when using the marty board and going over ramps. maybe this makes the targ board more important? in any event i think it's a nice challenge.
