What are the best duty officers for tactical ground combat?

I am pretty happy with my space duty officers but don't have many "good" ground officers. I like the Neil Falconer and Verelan, but I am not impressed by the rest. Do you have any suggestions that you like?

All else fails: 3 VR security officers (standard). It can be a huge buff to the security team ability.

Yeah, 8 redshirts nothing to sneeze at. Especially if you combine it with the trait that gives them grenades.

Not as good as before they nerfed it, though.

What nerf are you talking about? They improved combat ability of the security officers in the big ground balance update. What they struck down was how many instances of security team you could run at a time. Now, it's one (with however many officers that spawn in) which doesn't affect most users, only those who were using heavy team skill CD reductions.

Yeah, pretty much 3 VR security officers for security team.

I also use a nurse of the chance of medical support when using a hypo. I also slot in a doctor for a chance to increase max health when a science Boff uses medical tricorder.

If you use grenades then you can search the Exchange for an Assault Squad Officer that has a chance to reduce grenade recharge time. There are also variants that have a chance to either increase Crit Chance or Crit Severity if you want to search for them on the Exchange. I don't know the specific names of ASQs with those abilities.

Yeah vr secs are good umm the delta pack stacking crth and crtd ones are nothing to sneeze at too if you can afford em. They're cheaper than the space equivalents (those are like 60m+ each) but still pricey

For tac ground you want the assault squad officers that give bonus crits, the biochemist that reduces cooldowns on consumables, the doff that gives -20 dmg resistance on use of target optics (can't remember the type of doff)...I also use a UR explosives expert that adds AOE radiation to plasma exploit attacks. There's also one that gives a chance to expose when using fire on my mark if you're using the expose/exploit mechanic.

They removed the ability to summon more than one group at a time and the cooldown by making Tactical Initiative not affect it anymore. And seeing as every tac with common sense was using TI, yeah it affects most users.

Anything but Romulan. For some reason Cryptic decided that Romulan BOFFs are not allowed to run. Strange limitation. The Romulans don't look fat or anything.

Except those are BOFFs and the OP was talking about DOFFs.
