Plasmonic Leech?

dykerasdykeras Member Posts: 326 Arc User
As previous post will attain to, i'm back after a lengthy break and reading up on the Plasmonic Leech changes...

I run an Escort which has a Plasmonic Leech and 3x Embassy Science consoles which each give me some Drain expertise. Is it worth it to still run with these or can I drop the Embassy Science consoles and/or Leech?

(to be honest I really could do with the room the Embassy consoles are taking up but won't Plasmonic Leech be useless on it's own without the Embassy consoles to boost it?) Or better still get rid of all of them?

I run a Rom Warbird, if that makes any difference

The energy weapon DPS gain of the embassy sci consoles is close to zero after the adjustments of S13. They are only worth to run for +/- threat management, if at all. Even sci stats get better boost with other sci consoles now.

As for leech I still think it to be in the top 10 consoles in game. You still get a capped (and not influence by drain expertise) +7.5 power to all subsystems thx to it but no more. Since all toons of mine have supremacy for power enhancements I found exploring other options than the leech to give me better results but on a romulan toon with weaker cores would test it more thoroughly.

Without knowing your build more detailed I can’t give you ideal advise but from first impression I’d say keep the leech but trash the embassy consoles and replace with good universals/lobi/lock box ones.

Thankyou for your advice, I did/do run a Disruptor build so I will replace the Sci consoles with some of the new ones from the (Echoes of light) missions.

One point on Plasmonic Leech... it now stacks with the power gain from the Maco shield, if memory serves...

Get the nausicaan 3 piec from the mission echoes of light, its pretty solid for disruptor builds i have it on my intel dreadnought and it really makes my disruptors pop :)

Sounds good, the Nausicaan Siphon Capacitor is a sound replacement. Same counts for the Temporal Disentanglement Suite from the mission Butterfly. Both are powerful sci consoles for energy builds now. And yea, as @coldnapalm states the leech is still brilliant in its price category. Everything else peeps use will ultimately cost quite a bit. :)
