This sounds much more plausible than the OP's assertion.
Are we sure it's even datamined stuff? Half of what's posted comes off as intentionally picked things that the OP knows will cause people on the forums to throw a fit about, like T7 ships. Seems more like he's mad his costume hack was shut down and now he's trying to TRIBBLE with everyone else for the trolololols.
What is with people and their obsession with T7?
The Devs themselves have said there will be no T7! They are done with vertical level progression! We're getting Lateral via Spec Trees! (Which we really do need a new one by now)
T6 is the top, with MANY avenues for expansion.
THERE. IS. NO. T7!
Anyways... I'm sure we'll get something special for TNG's anniversary.
Great expansions are few and far between but they do come. Often such expansion needs a profound cause:
TNG 30th anny,
DSC launch,
T7 ships (that noone needs).
Devs have stated in multiple pod cast interviews since AOY that the next expansion would take less time it would be less than a year and a half
At the same time though, there's still plenty of ships that have not received a T6 upgrade yet and so there is little reason to move to T7.
They don't have to move to T7 to celebrate DS9 and TNG's anniversaries.
We'll see what will or won't happen, I personally doubt it's going to happen. I do know that I probably won't be buying T7 ships though. If they're going to move from | T5 + T5 fleet versions | to | T6 + T5U + T6 fleet | to T7 and probably T6U and T7 fleet ships in less than two years, then I'm out of here.
I never liked how they offer an option to upgrade T5s to T5U, only to release a T6 ship later, for which you'll still have to buy a fleet module too in many cases to use it to its full potential. I've never had a problem with paying - quite significant sums of money too - for the game I love to play, but this kind of cash grabbing where you're basically charging players two or three, and if T7 were to happen even four times for what is basically the same product is less acceptable imo.
I definitely won't be supporting it, unless this T7 is truly something new and accompanied by really new stuff and some radical changes that warrant demanding extra money.
This.
T7s are not needed or wanted (by very many)
I do just fine in the game in some of my T5-Us, and the T6 ships I do have (mostly 'freebies') are very good and used as well. I just swap out if I want a different feel to my game.
There are many ways to celebrate an expansion, without introducing a new tier of ships.
T5U was a way to hold people over until the T6s were fleshed out. If they didn't want a currently available T6, they could upgrade their favorite T5 and it would still be competitive. While I can agree that NOW T5U is kinda redundant, it wasn't when they launched Delta Rising and the T6s.
