The Heavy Escort Flak Shot Artillery ability stays active when auto attack is on even with no enemies at range, causing it to keep cancelling interactions with other objects.
I started noticing this bug in the Mirror Invasion event queue, where, after defeating enemies around a rift to shut it close, my interaction with the portal would drop regularly every few seconds, forcing me to press the key again to restart the interaction.
After some tries, I saw that not only the Heavy Escort Flak Shot Artillery ability wasn't greyed out like the rest when no enemy is in range, but would keep activating (even when not targeting or hitting any enemy, and without shooting) until red alert mode/combat was lifted (my auto attack is set to stop after dropping out of combat, so the setting may affect the duration of the ability as well), and that the activation of the ability was causing the drop of interaction.
So, for now, Heavy Escort Flak Shot Artillery keeps activating for nothing and conflicts with interaction.
To replicate the issue:
1/Equip Heavy Escort Flak Shot Artillery on an eligible ship
2/Set your auto attack to stop when combat stops or never stops
3/Go into combat near an interactive item
4/Destroy all enemies in range
5/Start the interaction
6/Watch the Heavy Escort Flak Shot Artillery ability keeping activating and interrupting the interaction

That's a step in the right direction, but that didn't solve the problem of the ability activating when no enemy is around in red alert and interrupting interactions.
Worse, it seems now that if the ability is on auto-fire and you click on it out of combat, even if auto-attack is set to stop when not in combat, it'll continue activating until you right-click on the ability to stop the auto-attack.
