so far since the last patch i haven't been able to get past the loading Escalation splash screen on my laptop, hangs there for ages then crashes to desktop.
thankfully my desktop is unaffected being a much more powerful computer, having said that my laptop falls within the specs for running the game.
Aspire 5742Z
windows 10 home
duel core P6200 @ 2.13GHz
6 GB ram
582 GB hard drive with 376 GB free space.
hope todays patch might fix this issue.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
I crashed again this morning after a transwarp. Client is also not sending STO a error log nor is not asking to verify file like it use too when this happens.
Same here. I was playing just fine until I joined the Core Assault queue. Then my whole game crashed and I could not get back on that character without immediately crashing again.
I tried turning off the new lighting system which made it possible for me to load another character. Then I could get back on my other character, the one that kept crashing. But as soon as I rejoined Core Assault, I crashed again.
And again. I had no trouble playing Borg Red Alerts or Borg Disconnected on this toon, but as soon as I try to join Core Assault or Binary Circuit, the game crashes.
Which means I have no way of getting the new marks; so I can't do the new reputation.
I've had game client crashes as well, though it hasn't made the entire game unplayable for me. And after reading some of these posts, the trend seems to be that those on laptops and less powerful machines are suffering the most.
What happens to me is that the game loads in just fine and things begin as normal. However, if I go to a place with lots of NPCs or large and detailed maps that put a lot of demand on processing power, the framerate drops and graphical lag sets in. And even if I manage to move to a less "demanding" spot, the frame rate does not return to normal. Then, when I try to move to a new map, the game client crashes. Fortunately, I'm able to load the game again and the framerate returns to normal.
Fortunately, this doesn't effect my ability to DOFF and run my dailys too much. However, there are places and events that I just can't go to any more. Core Assult is almost completely unplayable, the main room of ESD is a problem spot, and things have generally become difficult.
I susspect that this game client crash issue and the framerate drop are related in some way, as I have had no trouble with either of these things in the past.
And just for reference, my laptop's specs:
Dell Inspiron N4110
Intel Core i3-2330M CPU @ 2.20GHz with integrated GPU
8.00 GB RAM
64-bit Windows 7 Operating System
to add an additional path to error than the scenarios above: I have recreated a new toon to play with the new rebalanced game. All of my crashes are consistent and occur during map transitions, mostly entering a new map and heavily during the drozana / devidian story line. always consistent. Map transitions.
On the 29th I had the client crash right after I hit the blue Engage button, meaning it was just starting to load the game, and it locked up both the game and Steam, which was what I was running it through. I had to do an emergency shut down to clear the locked programs.
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.
I'm getting random crashes whilst in Voth Battlezone. Regardless of what zone i'm in. I can be in command centre and get as far as a tunnel to exit and it will crash. I may get out the tunnel and get the start of a capture point and it will crash or i can go through the whole zone right up the v-rex fight and it will crash to desktop.
Only happening to me in this zone.
Updated drivers/Force verified/Lowered my graphics nothing works. All started the day season 13 launched as i've been running the battle zone since sept 2016 on Win 10 64bit and for several years previously on the old mac client with the same settings and now they are ok for the rest of the game but not vbz ?
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.

Something that was "fixed" in today's patch (4/26/2017) has re-broken something which was fixed two months ago. Fatally.

I played the Voth Battlezon on one of my characters, did an ISA on another, but as soon as I try to queue for Core Assault on
M'Zowla@fleetcaptain5#1134 (in case this is helpful) the game immediately crashes.
