What's left of the PvP community needs to be very careful when the new season comes out to not alienate players by ganking, trolling and generally bullying them like they used to. We need the community to come back if we want improvements for PvP to continue.
This could mean a bit of hand holding but it'll be for the benefit of PvP.
We are ultimately responsible for the environment we create in the PvP community.
Are there rules to PvP? That's new
That being said, PvP died along time ago little after the game first launched, as it was not properly developed - Though it was a little fun back then until ---> Lock Box items and ships - even Cstore took a dabbed at PvP via power creeps.
There is no way PvP can ever be fixed, ever - the game is to far gone in that department - you going to have to start a new game with proper design from the get go.
unless they give players during the event with preset ships, skills, traits, and consoles / and not allow players to use their own ships, traits etc...
Yeah, the "hardcore" PvE crowd on Facebook and the forums are not liking it at all. They want more PvE content they can run it for a month then go back to ISA.

hmm... not impressed, but most probably i'll give it a shot in marmots coffeemug. only to see against whome an totally outdated build and pilot get matched up lol.
the creep problem stays, no matter what shape they try to force it into. at least from all i've read about the changes yet. indeed, even if they find a good and workable approach it is much likely that the old pattern of rinse and repeat op release, nerf, etc. will not decline in the process.
will be funny to feel like a total nub again though
Meh, they killed PvP years ago, and kept stabbing the corpse over and over again with the unbalanced gear creep. I think they're too far past the rebalance stage for established players, and matchmaking will only work correctly for nubs that haven't yet purchased and upgraded all their exotic lobi/lockbox gear.
Oh ye sad delusioned PvP'ers. I feel kinda sad for you. I was once one of you, but no longer. Fool me once shame on you, fool me a thousand times for years on end, time to kill myself. Isn't that how the saying goes? I haven't played STO in couple of years, but are there actually enough people in the queues for a matchmaking system to work. Even when I was playing, the queues could be quite desolate, and I'd imagine they haven't improved since then. A matchmaking system is pointless if you are waiting 30+ minutes for the bare minimum of players (across all skill levels) to fill a game. You want to wait hours...days...millinia....for there to be a enough players queued at your particular skill level for the game to start?
The point of the matchmaking system, and this whole season really, is to try to get more people to PvP. Whether it's going to work or not is the real question.
But serious question, does anyone actually still play pvp, ground or space no matter cause i i liked both back before delta TRIBBLE and is there any chance that this thing gonna bring it alive.I deleted all my characters when i left so not sure should i go through all this boring tedious leveling for nothing.

Which kind of highlights something observed in another thread: Anything they do at this point is probably going to result in a net improvement-it's actually gotten to the point the only thing they could do to make PvP Less active wold be to remove the mode entirely.
Am disappointed, I didn't see the typical quote about 'were not supporting this because there's no interest' from the devs. I suspect it's more about exploring an untapped area to get players to grind in than actually making the PvP experience better. I should be excited to see PvP get some lovin, but after all the neglect for so long I'm realizing they did a great job of conditioning us to accept grinding as the game, and like it.
Co-Op Pve/Pvp however you look at is the best way for it to go anyways. All that happens in pvp in games these days and why I usually drop and leave it is doesn't take any skill when people are just spamming the most spam as they can possibly spam to win. So competitive where you are actually having to do something and spam won't help all that much is the kind of pvp I would like to see.
Also I am wondering with a lot of things that are tied up that tactical team and science team just cure all for if that is going to be the answer to the balancing still. Anyways I hope it goes well for the game.

Still play ground and kicking, having some small Otha battles and shooting up scis.
Edit: Many old (ground) PvP'ers came back after they heard of expansion, people I haven't seen in years. Like, we're talking people from PvP boot camp/FES and a bunch of other people from the previous PvP power-houses.

Is that you Florence, ,not sure if i remember handle right, sorry if im mistaken Yeah this update definetly caught my interest, only problem is all that leveling that awaits me,so many reputations and stuff.Gonna try to catch up i guess, cause beside Warthunder no other game i tried didnt really scratch that particular pvp itch.Crazy i know
Ok, today pvp queues are back again! Anyway the new competitives are pretty good to be honest. I did 2-3 times the ground one and it's really fun to play as a borg against the enemy team Also, disturbing other players while they hit your regulator core in the space one is kind of evil! Poor them, always drained in my rifts

LMAO.
This whole situation with the supposed "PvP season" launch basically sums up Craptic's position in regards to PvP in the game.
