AFK'ers are making a mockery of First Contact Day!

Every FCD run I've done has had 2 or 3 AFK'ers in there. Okay so they don't affect the result, but frankly they are laughing their backsides off because they are getting rewards for doing NOTHING!!

Whilst I'm happy that Cryptic has toughened up on AFK'ers, it doesn't go far enough for me. Repeat offenders should be getting an increasingly longer ban and there should be a system-run AFK boot. This current event has only encouraged AFK'ers and it will embolden them to repeat doing. Making it not worth the ban is the only way too go.

Hardly laughing their TRIBBLE off, it is grueling and tedious and you get NOTHING, that is correct "NOTHING" for all the effort it takes to gather parts. No extra marks, No large amount of dilithium for it etc... Just the base reward at the end of it all. So it is more of a waste of time than anything else. In essence they turned what was a nice event to visit the ship yards into a time gate from hell.

Let's break down the numbers shall we:

To Queue - about on average 10sec, maybe a little more depending on the queue

The briefing - A full 1min 21sec

Collection of parts - A whopping 5min

For you to run to the bench - 30sec

For you to adjust your parts - 1min

To watch it launch - 43sec plus

about 8minutes plus on one toon -people have more than one -> So if you have about 3 characters it is about 20minutes to 30minutes a round. OUCH - And guess what - It is NOT an account unlock item, it is per character, per toon - talk about a grind if you have more than 3 toons, which most people do.

Results for the long haul - Nada, nothing, and it doesn't matter if you come in first.

Reward - base reward with your choice of marks (which you can easily get in another queue)

FFS, just have fun and enjoy the scenery. "Mimimi, they are doing it wrong! Mimimi, I don't get enough rewards for my WORK" - it's a game. Get real.

Well it doesn't directly effect you whatsoever, not like, let's say Infected space, where you really need the team work to get the objectives done. You should feel honored, you will always get 1st place. Have fun and enjoy the event, as long as it does not effect your results, it is neither here nor there.

My first run of it, I had no idea what I was doing and placed 3rd. My second and third runs, I launched full purple rockets and came in 2nd by 1-2 meters because of randomness. My 4th time I had all AFKers and finally managed to get first place! But you don't get a title or a trophy for your ship like when you win the Crystalline Entity queue. So, yeah. There's no actual benefit to playing the queue. You can just watch TV.

Oh I understand what you guys are on about, but you do get Marks and Dil etc each run, so people are still getting awards for doing nothing.

My issues is AFK'ers in general. They may complain about the 'grind' being the issue, but every game out there is a grind! I've played a few games where AFK'ers are auto-booted, and this game needs it to discourage this. I'd rather have to carry an STF because players aren't effective than put up with AFK'ers. They do nothing, and think they're entitled to do so because 'it's a grind, time gates mean it's not going to fail et all'.

OP does it have an impact on your rewards? NO. Does it effect your having fun? NO. Does it keep you from completing the event and claiming your reward? NO. So in other words it has ZERO impact on you so get off your soap box. Next you will be b#tching that people are just sitting around on Risa duirng the Hogan hunt and that hurts your fun so they need an AFK ban hammer on them. You must be a ton of fun at parties buzz killington.

I enjoyed a lot the concept ... the map was nice just nothing interesting to do .

So while i was in this event I was Doing Doffs assignments, admiralty .. and enjoyed to see my little rocket exploding quickly hehe.

the reward was great I enjoyed & enjoying the little rocket toy , sad I can't use it on Risa .
