Since it is a "type" of in-game currency, I, as many others, believe it should have more of a use than it does as the selection of GPL items is limited. My idea is that for every 10,000 or so GPL, a person should be able to buy 5 Lobi Crystals. (The Lobi Crystals are harder to get on their own as it is.) In that regard, those that have a large amount of GPL can purchase the Lobi Crystals and be able to obtain a Lobi ship or other goody without spending hundreds of dollars on Master-Keys just to get items that are nigh on useless or worthless.

I, myself, have a rather sizeable amount of GPL that is just sitting there. Now, there isn't much to buy with the GPL other than some holo-emitters and/or a highly expensive dance and outfit. What else is there to do with our GPL other than let it build up? Nothing. Nothing at all until it is refined as a truly usable currency. Maybe it could even be turned into Zen? Who knows until GPL is useful and worth SOMETHING.

    The whole point of Lobi is to sell keys. They aren't going to cut into that by giving away for Energy Credits (which you can convert into GPL) because that would hurt key sales.

    Lobi crystals for GPL? That's crazy. Even if Cryptic considered it, it would have to be for a heck of a lot more than that given it takes about 1 key to get 5 lobi and keys sell for 5.6m EC. So, depending on which conversion rate you believe, it would have to be closer to 3-4m GPL. And of course GPL is probably the easiest thing to bot in the game so there's simply no way Cryptic should ever consider it.

    I think that GPL should be the ONLY way to get Ferengi Ships, something like 1 million GPL for a D'Kora etc...

    If you play dabo you can convert EC to Latinum at less than 2 EC for 1 GPL. Doesn't matter how high the conversion rate to Lobi is, someone will stand there playing dabo instead of opening boxes, and that isn't what Lobi crystals are all about.

    Never gonna happen because Lobi Crystals generates real money for Cryptic.

    If you do not want to spend real money to obtain Lobi Crystals then either buy master keys or promo R&D packs from the Exchange with EC. Or exchange your refined Dil to Zen for to buy keys from the C-Store which will open lock boxes. Or use the Zen to buy promo R&D packs from the C-Store.

    for 10,000 GPL you should be able to buy hundreds of thousands of lobi, since lobi are worthless shiny rocks selling on cardassia for a single lek​​

    As someone with over 10,000,000, I openly support any way of buying more items with GPL.

    Perhaps you could buy some ground and space combat consumables, like launching a pair of Fergengi shuttles to fight by your side until they take a bribe to betray you.

    GPL most useless thing in game outside of well honest Feregengi... Wish I could turn them into something useful like EC. Have millions of useless GPL on my toons.

    Can you still sell Holo-emitters on the exchange, I seem to remember that being a thing. That turns GPL, into EC, which you can use to buy keys, to open boxes, and get Lobi.

    The main point of Keys isn't the Lobi, it's to get the lockbox gear and ships. converting GPL to lobi wouldn't make much of a difference to the key sales since you get more stuff from the lockboxes than you do with Lobi.

    As much as I'd love for a way to obtain Lobi other than keys....this is why it isn't going to happen. 202k Dabo win years ago and I still have a large chunk of it because I don't care about the trophies.
