Gary Seven's recruiters saved me in the nick of time by transporting me 1,000 Light Years away in the microsecond before the bullet hit. Looks like I am in a Ground Battlezone somewhere. Though different it seems eerily familiar. :)

At this point, seriously starting to get event/grind fatigue. I can't remember the last time we had a decent break from the eternal Cryptic grind fest. Maybe it was last September or October, can't really recall now. Hopefully April and May will finally be grind break months.

Agreed. I'd like to have a bit of a respite from all the events, so that I can get some of my other toons caught up. Would be especially helpful if XP bonuses took place during an events break.

So don't do them? No one is forcing you to complete them, the events are there and if you want to do it then you can. Just because you (and this is a general "you" not a you specifically because multiple people have this same comment) are feeling like there are too many events doesn't mean that they should just not put anything out for people to do. I personally skip the Winter event because I can't stand that stupid race and I don't mind missing an Admiralty card for something I really don't like. If I don't like how another event looks I also won't burn myself out trying to get the reward on every character. The same premise applies here. If YOU feel like there are too many events, simply choose not to do some of them. You're only missing out on a melee weapon for this one so let those that actually would like another event have fun while you sit this one out and do other things you would like.

I think what people are missing here as well is that you don't NEED everything on every character possible. It's not NECESSARY to get every reward. Pick and choose what you'd like. If you want it on all 10+ characters that you decided to make then you should accept that as you made too many characters to keep up with them during events. No one forced you to make them all. I don't think other players should be made to not have things to do because players with more characters are feeling overwhelmed trying to keep all of them up to date.

I do enjoy doing events, it just gets to be a bit much after awhile. I will participate in an event, if it is possible for me to do so, and I find the event itself or the reward enjoyable and worth my while. Some I do skip, like the Junior Officers Event at the Academy, or the Omega Event, which I only do for the daily. I also don't try and run every toon through every event. Admittedly, I'd enjoy events a lot more, if their unique rewards were Account Unlocks. Your premise is flawed, though. You make it sound like there's nothing to do unless there is an event going on. There's plenty to do without Cryptic having an event.

Last year it was fun, this year... TOO DAMN SHORT! Seriously it sucks, and then having to do a 180 and go out the winding path you took to go into the core? See the beauty of the older way of getting out was it was fairly straight, this one feels anti-climactic. On top of that atmospheric flight training was not trigering on the way out, turn rate on my RAiDER was 1/3 of what it should have beem, it was turning like a Brick, (and yes i got full atmo flight.)

I never said there wasn't. I enjoy having MORE to do if I choose on top of the normal STF, missions, grinding battlezone, etc. There's always something to do but I generally like to have an option if I don't want to do any of the normal things you can do at any single point regardless of what's going on. Events are that. I think you're not understanding the core argument I'm trying to make.

I was looking to get out that final door but it didn't open. I eventually went back to the way I came in but didn't get through that door. The Queue ended and it said we all got out.

The Briefing Timer could be lost, and if you are going to make the Trench optional bypass it. I didn't need to be dropped out of Full Impulse by the fire.

I did this about 70 or so times last year, but the new changes left me running into walls this time. Need to get my bearings over again.

The atmospheric flight training is probably not triggering as a result of the Fortress Ship itself no longer being in the Dyson Sphere, but in open space.

Also, I don't know if this has been answered anywhere, but: are the Furiadon's Fangs account unlocks once acquired? Or do they have to be ground out per toon?

I used to think The Breach was actually fun, now too much of it has been cut and a lot of what made it fun is gone. Does everything have to be so quick? If we have to grind at least keep it fun. This is ridiculous. I don't usually complain in this game but wow this is terrible.

To be honest, the only reason I am doing this event is precisely because it grants the melee weapon.
I wouldn't be doing it otherwise, as it is my least favorite queue.

I am hoping/wanting the weapon unlock to be account based though, as my primary intention for doing this event is to unlock it for future characters that may or may not be created (depending on Cryptic's plans for more playable species/factions).
Since the Lukari ship and the Sompek lightning module were both account based unlocks, but the assignment text did not state that, I am now always going to be uncertain what is or isn't an account based unlock unless it is specified somewhere.

And I'm quite happy they shortened it, it's more alt friendly now.
Especially considering I am running it with 4 separate characters per day.
Doing that with the old version for the last account made me a cranky tiger by day 5, day 10 I was an angry polar bear.
Day 14, happy otter dance that the tedium was finally over!

When the event returns fully after the Special Rewards, will it be the old long version?

I have to say that the original version of the Breach was superior. I enjoyed the additional rooms which was more of a challenge. For me this shortened version is somewhat anticlimactic. Regardless, the eventual reward is pretty nice but as the weapon is likely only going to be a character unlock I'll only be running my current alt through. Still and all I'm appreciative of the new (sort of) content.

So seriously, folks... are the Furiadon Fangs single player or account unlocks?
Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

Did a run with a Risan Corvette with all the impulse speed boosts I could throw at it. I think left the team dumbfounded since it took them about 15 seconds to realize they could skip over to the door. Super short run.

As far as I know, the Furiadon Fangs are a per player unlock, that only the character who completes the mission will get the weapon.

I would have preferred account unlock myself, for future alts should they be created.

The only way to workaround this would be to save tokens from the Phoenix Prize pack (probably the Very Rare ones) and save them in case the reward table is updated to include Furiadon Fangs at a later date.

Still haven't gotten the Agony Field Rifle and ISS Stadi Admiralty Card in the Phoenix yet. Thought they would be in this last one but not. Either the next will have a bunch of new Items or you may have to wait for at least two Phoenix Events to have the Fangs added.

And now I am wondering if it possible that the reward table might not be updated, but instead we get 2017 and 2018 Phoenix Prize packs patch updates, which means that different kinds of rewards are available depending on what year you got the tokens.

Ditto. It's supposed to be running until the 23rd. Guess I missed something about it being pulled.

Cryptic broke it so they removed it from the queue until they fix it.

  • tilartatilarta Member Posts: 1,801 Arc User
I can also see the queue is missing.
I hope they resolve this quickly, I want to get this task done as quickly as possible because I am not enjoying it.
I know there is a buffer of extra days, but if the event is down for an extended period, they will have to extend it so we can earn the remaining amount of tokens for the reward.
For me, it is 7, so one week more of daily play to go.

nah I had some phoenix tokens left over, they're identical.

I wasn't saying they had made the change, just they might in the future.
Like how the Q photos and other similar items were changed so we couldn't reuse them in the following year.
That inconvienced one of my ingame friends, they like to collect bonus tokens to reduce the grind on the event next time.
