Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

Woo hoo! I loved these the first time. I'll try to grab some this time around.

My only thing is that nothing new was added (best I could tell). I'm guessing this is to give a period of exclusivity to those who earned the related items before putting them into the Box.

Other than that relatively minor thing (this time around, anyway), I'm glad to have these back for a bit. :)

Might want to revise the Prize List. The last time this was run the Emergency Conn Hologram was added and the Elachi Kit Module – Subspace Rift was removed from the Prize list after the Phoenix went live. The first is available and the latter is not today as they should be.

As the last time, we are NOT getting the one use Phoenix Small Craft Replicas.

The Solanae Tribble is listed but is not available in the Phoenix Store.

Re-releasing the Phoenix Pack is a bad idea. This should have been an annual event; at worst, a bi-annual event. It's a little too close to when it was previously released. That being said, I'll take advantage of the opportunity.

How long until these are on the console?

This event came back too soon. And it should come soon after an event that produces 50k dil per toon, such as the breech one that just started, when people are swimming in dil.

Or, and stay with me here, if you look at the ingame calendar you'll see there's an upgrade weekend coming up. That weekend happens while The Breech event is going on meaning people are just barely going to be finished with it to get that Dil and some may still be finishing up. Maybe, just maybe, the devs are attempting to siphon off Dil ahead of that to counteract the lack of Dil going to be used due to all the Omega Upgrades that have been made. This is on top of continuing to try and filter out as much excess Refined as possible to make sure people are going to want to actually do the event to get some Unrefined back and keep their numbers of concurrent logins higher.

Maybe the people calling "it's come back too early!" need to look at the larger picture next time of everything that's just finished, is currently going on, and will be happening this month and put together a reasonable guess as to why the devs are doing what they're doing. It doesn't take long to check the in-game calendar.

It came back right when the diligent people who only did it for the traits, or just to have it done, but don't want the gear are finishing up Lukari reputation, and have 32,000 dilithium that would otherwise be going on the exchange. It's fine timing, as evidenced by the drop in the exchange.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

I hope I can get an epic token and finally obtain that Nandi I stupidly missed by not doing the summer event on my first year.
I stream on Twitch, look for Avoozl_

They have some stuff to add, like the agony rifle.....
This should be a yearly bi-yearly thing, not a quarterly thing.

While I like the concept of the Phoenix Box becoming a recurring event I don't think it should have been brought back so quickly. Once a year is more than enough and only after new items are added to it. Most of us have loaded our alts up with everything we didn't already have the first time this box was available. I may buy a few boxes for the upgrade but nothing like the first time.

Do you know what this needs?
    :: looks at watch ::
    A timer.

But seriously, it needs a daily timer. :/

The drop chance on the epic tokens is brokenly low. I know you guys do this on purpose to balance out the dil/zen exchange rate. However, is there any chance that the ships given away in the anniversary events will come back? Allow those of us who were unable to play during those times to be able to get them without having to pay through the nose for a .001% chance to get a token?

Almost certainly not. We might get upgraded ships, like we did last winter. I wouldn't be surprised to see a T6 raceboat on Risa this year.

I was never too keen on the Risa ships, but I would love to get my hands on a Samsar or Krenim science vessel. I guess I could always have a fools hope.

The good news is you can get a lifetime supply of tech upgrades trying for an epic token :)
  • sorojisoroji Member Posts: 97 Arc User
Yeah, I've picked up plenty of those. Now if only i could switch my account to console, pick up the ship there and switch back...hrmmmm

With the event at its end, how did you folks do?

Got pretty lucky with the freebee boxes this year with 1 epic, 1 rare and 1 uncommon.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Every box I got from grym was uncommon. Out of all of the 600+ boxes I opened, I only got 2 ultra rare, everything else was below that. which got converted to phoenix upgrades. But that many boxes, and 0 Epics.. I have better odds getting ships out of lock boxes.

Post said the packs would be available until 10am PST. It is now 9:30am PST and the packs have been removed. Was the post incorrect or am I missing something?
  • tarran61tarran61 Member Posts: 827 Arc User
180 opened, 1 Epic, 1 Ultra Rare, 78 Rare and the rest uncommon (Upgrade kits) ;-) Worked well for me. Thank you again and until next time.

Not worth raising a big stink about, I guess. Just frustrating when posted times are not true - makes it hard to rely on them.

10 AM PST is after the Maintenance was complete. These things run until Maintenance starts, because when it's over, the Event or Promotion is over as well.

If you don't finish up an Event, or run a Featured Episode, or buy something on sale BEFORE Maintenance starts, when Maintenance is complete all that stuff is over. They use Maintenance to turn on and off things.

Yes, I know that sometimes maintenance is when things change, but sometimes things end by the clock - not by maintenance. For instance, the R&D packs give a time the event ends, having nothing to do with maintenance:
For a limited time, Research and Development packs will be available to Captains for 20% off! From Thursday, March 9th at 9AM PST to Monday, March 13th at 10AM PST, both Research and Development packs as well as bundles will be discounted.
Plenty of short-term events end when there is no patch and they always write it that way in the blog post. I thought this was a case of the latter, since it is exactly what the blog post said:
We are excited to announce the return of the Phoenix Prize Pack, which return to Star Trek Online on PC from Thursday, March 2nd at 9AM PST til Thursday, March 9th at 10am PST.
My mistake - next time I will endeavor to ignore any posted times in future blogs for Thursday end dates. I appreciate your wonderful suggestion, @ltminns.

You're very welcome. Things get dicey when Maintenance is in the mix. It is just best not to take the chance, then you won't be disappointed in the end.
