Frames Per Second

Ok ... so first I will preface by saying I know I don't have the top tier computer equipment ... but here is what I am running

AMD FX-4350 @ 4.5ghz
8 MB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit
XFX Radeon R7-250x gpu

Now, on to the reason for this. I cannot get above 20 fps anywhere in game. I have changed all settings to low/min and still 20. Really .... 20fps. Some missions (especially ground fps drops below 10 ... usually around 5). I believe, even with my setup above I should be hitting 40 or better, but 5 to 10 on ground.

Is there anything that I am doing wrong, or that I can do different to increase my fps. I love STO, but it is getting to the point the game is unplayable. HELP! Please?

With the new lighting I get about 20-40 fps, with it disabled I get around 60. But in places like New Romulus It stays around 20-20. The only time I dropped to around 4 fps was during the missions where you capture a elachi ship and go to one of their stations. When I disabled the new lighting it got up to around 40. I made a ticket and I hope this gets fixed soon.

    Also my computer specs are:
    AMD A8-6500 APU 3.5 ghz
8GB ram (you put MB but I think you meant GB)
    Windows 10 64 BBit
Nvidia Geforce GT 710 (1GB Memory)

My normal settings are Low and Medium but I can play with High and have 30-50FPS.

click on file expoler then go to this pc, then tocomputer, then on system properties, then on advanced system settings, then on advanced, then under perfomance click on stettings, on visual effects set to adjust for best performance then hit apply, on the advanced tab set to adjust for best performance of programs hit apply also under this tab you can change the size of the virtual memory. I have mine set to 16384MB=16GB.
    My specs
    intel i5 3570k at 3.4 turbo 4.2
    16gb of ram
    win 10 home 64 bit
    AMD HD7700 1GB of ddr5 ram
In game settings all maxed and I get between 30 to 50 fps on the ground and 60 to 80 in space by doing the above settings to the computer. It will make your desktop screen look flat and bland and I only care about how my computer runs the games at max fps and full on eye candy, this might hlep you get x2 to x5 the amount of fps and inpove your gameplay.
Also you can bring up task maneger and end a lot of tasks that you do not need running like print spooler, blue tooth devices etc.

Thanks for all the help. But with all the changes I just can't get certain missions (mainly Delta Quadrant patrol) above 10. I am beginning to think it is an issue on Crytip's end. They just don't like AMD graphics cards.

Please have a read of this, it may help you - especially if you did an in-place windows 7 to 10 upgrade.
