Can someone tell me how to play "Save the Stupid" here? Every BOFF/Vorta/Changeling/etc gets stuck behind the door boss.

Every alt I take through here gets this exact same issue. :(

For those that don't understand me due to coffee not taking effect: NPC's and doors suck on this mission. They can't get through the doors without me running back and forth through the doorway to get them all through.

I sometimes back up to them and take them through slowly. The last time I ran it, the Founder went missing.

I lost all three on my last run through it. Seriously, the door boss is a horrible issue here.

The worst part? I have to run it twice. Once for the BOFF and once for the JH shield (for RP reasons).

Tell the artificial stupidity to shove their doors where the sun don't shine, then finish it yourself?

And if you can't finish it solo, ask friend(s) to team with you.

These problems on this mission do exist for some time now. I don't know exactly, but I did this mision a couple of months ago and had these problems; your NPC get stuck or cannot follow you. My work arround? I do it alone. On normal you can easily solo it.

For a while, the AI has been randomly either competent or utterly incompetent to pass doors and not get blocked by the scenery in various maps at different times.

Sometimes, you have to be very careful and very slow to walk through doors and even then, there's no guarantee it'll work. And other times, you can do whatever you want and even bump into the scenery, they'll follow you everywhere without a single mistake.

That is one Mission I run as soon as I can to get some Resolve Doffs and the Jem'Hadar, which allows you to run some aditional Doff Missions.

I always run it twice. Once for the BOFF and once for the shield for his ground set.

Can't say I've lost anyone at doorways yet. Well, maybe once in all the times I've run it. And I was able to solo that one cause I always run my game on normal difficulty.
Now a LTS and loving it.

I always lose my borg boff in one of the doorways leading into the Voth battle zone. Drives me crazy as I always forget and only realise after some considerable distance.
If I walk slowly its ok, just the tendency to forget on my part thats annoying.

Really? I'd think that it happens at all would be the annoying part...

Actually the recent time I ran 'What Lies Beneath', the Boffs were very well behaved in following along. As an aside, the new head-mounted flashlights that stay on and are equipped on all Boffs and Lighting 2.0 finally made that one not a PITA to run. Much quicker when you can see where you are going.

Out of the 12 or so times I've, I've not had them get stuck maybe twice.

Thankfully it's not too hard to do by yourself. Usually combat will attract the changeling lady and the allied Jem Hadar will pop up and help.

it reminds me of that pah wraith mission from the old arc, when your boffs would jump off the catwalks and get killed in lava/stuck

    What's a door boss?

Not a joke. But reminds me of a joke: You have a dickfour on your head, they ask, what's a dickfour?

Last time i played this episode with my AoY recruit his boff sidekick kept getting stuck in all the doors.

Having 21 toons, I have run both of those missions 21 plus times and I have yet to get through them without one, or more, or all of my BOFFS getting stuck somewhere. Sometimes I do the cat herding routine, sometimes I just go on without them. If I do happen to "die", no matter how far back I left them, they respawn with me so not a major deal. Annoying as heck, and I prefer NOT dying......

sometimes, on any map, when they get stuck behind a door I use that marker to tell them to move to a specific spot then line them up so theres a straight line between me, the door, and the BOFF and turn off that marker... usually works..... key word... usually

Installation 18 and the Factory (and a few others), that usually works for me also. Sometimes just sending one BOFF away from the doorway works for the rest of them. It's as if the AI pathing tried to send them through the door in a specific order and since the first one got stuck, the rest will not go through until that one does. Once you force move the one, the rest are free to go on through. I generally move the one that seems to be closest to the door first, then next closest and I usually only have to move one or two of them before the others go on through.

Facility 4028, it almost never works. BOFF, Founder, and that useless Voorcha all do the same thing, they will go right up to the middle of the wide open doorway and stop dead as if the door was still closed and no amount of positioning, going back and forth etc will get them to go past that spot. For me, it's most often an all or nothing thing, either they all get stuck, or none of them do. In the case of Facility4028, I don't think it's a pathing problem, I believe it is a glitch in the coding that the AI uses to know if a door is open or closed as that is the only map where I have noticed them stopping dead in the open doorway as if the door was still closed instead of getting stuck on the edges of the doorway.

    LTS and loving it.

I ran Facility 4028 a couple hours ago and it was terrible. Strange though as I ran it a couple weeks ago as well and don't remember it being as bad as it was this time.

It happens also to me in Midnight and strangely almost always with the final doorway, when you mob up with T'Ket and leave the building. One moment you are with your team, then it is, where the hell is everybody?

On Kobali, when I use the transporters, City to High base, my boffs disappear often. I have to beam back and forth to get them back.
  • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,572 Arc User
Last night I transported to the Mountain Base on Kobali. I went up to the start of 'At the Gates', turned around and no one was there.

You're not alone at being alone.
Drove an AOY through the Kobali story recently and eventually I always checked after using the transporter to make sure my team made it.
  • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,572 Arc User
That was rare, however. They are usually right with me though they can be a bit slow catching up as I make a beeline dash for those Transporters in 'No Transport Zone'.

I'd just accept the ai is a crapshoot and build so you can handle the enemy solo - that said I'd love a command skill called 'regroup' that when used, automatically teleports your boffs to your side and marks your current target for destruction (with a debuff/heal perhaps)
