When will be the next Phoenix Prize Pack event taking place?

mindachemindache Member Posts: 4 Arc User
I'm building a healing science officer and I'd like the last piece for the Kobali set. I'm surprised three parts of this set are obtainable in a mission, while the last one is impossible to get for new players, like me. Please launch this event in near future or make these items obtainable at least once a year if not always. Thank you

Before the heat death of the universe . . . . probably.

We've had exactly 1 of them, so we lack the data needed to make an educated guess.

While I expect another one, there was never a promise of another nor any hint about a next date.

although there was never a promise of another one there was a hint that this would not be the only one, I have said this before and been slammed for it but I stand by my summery of the original announcement, in the opening line "We are excited to introduce the Phoenix Prize Pack, making its Star Trek Online debut" a debut being a first appearance or performance in a particular capacity or role.
my thought is if that was the first then there is a good chance there will be a second, otherwise why call it the first.

having said all of that your guess is as good as mine regarding when the next appearance will be.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

IIRC the Kobali ground "set" isn't a set at all as there's no set bonus.

There were a number of items left out of the first, probably to provide some additional value to Part Deux.

Also the name. Remember, a 'Phoenix in Greek mythology, is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor'.

You think there is any clue there Doctor Watson?

It will occur a day or two after you've spent it all on something else.

sooo they are going to burn the box? then it will return better then the first? O.O

Or is it going fly to greece then burn up and be reborn from someones fireplace lots of ashes there O.o

WAIT!! it will fly to london and be sherlock holmes so it will give watson the clue when it will be back?

Ok all jokes aside i think we may get it again the same time as last year, just a guesstimate.

I suspect it'll be either a once a year thing around the winter event. Or, it'll be linked to the summer and winter events each year.
It's basically a way to get people to spend more when they are normally not doing so. After all the Black Friday sales was a genius move as people already spent cash there and then dinky couldn't resist the shiny prizes on offer a few weeks later. Good move for Cryptic.

I think it's "when they want or need to."

Want to as in, "Hey, we have a bunch of new players that might like to have some of the older stuff no longer available."

Need to as in, "People are not playing. BRING BACK THE PHONICS BOXES!"

Its at its most useful with no discernable pattern. While it's active it makes dilithium incredibly useful and drives down the exchange. While its out there lurking it encourages hording dilithium, with makes it valuable and drives down the exchange/creates tension with other dilithium sinks.

When you know its coming, you don't that constant pressure to "save for a rainy day in case it rains tomorrow..."

    Indeed my dear ltminns. Lol.

Most likely it will be with QWW's so as not to hit the Dil/Ex too hard.

Or maybe when the Dilithium Exchange gets back to the middle 400s. It seems to not want to move up much higher than around 300 right now.

Oh you're talking about the space set. When I read "healer" I mistakenly assumed ground because I associate "healing" with ground not space.

Don't worry, the phoenix promotion will likely come back though based on the impact that it had on the dil/zen exchange, it won't likely be soon.

That reminds me. I have some merch that would probably make it into a next phoenix prize pack that I have to get rid off before it's worth 1/5th of it's value again.

i think that's pretty much spot on, I don't think the event will follow any set pattern as such it will just appear once or twice at random times throughout the year.

I'm suspecting either a 3 or 6 month cycle on it, so either the end of feb/beginning of March, or end of may/ beginning of June

By that logic, Phoenix boxes are associated with Delta Rising. :P

They have to wait for new event ships and other exclusive items to accumulate in order to keep their value high for new and long-time players, and to also decide on when a fast dilithium sink is to be added.

It says this question has been answered, what is the answer?

In fact, there are no "answers" here only guesses because players won't know.

Unless Mr. Ricotta decends down with an answer.

the answer is - "we do not know anything for sure"
and I think someone have said it quite directly in this thread....

Yeah well, when the subject has "answered" in the title there is usually an accompanied "answer" in the post within that thread. This does not. Don't condescend me.

welp I didn't put a question threads fro quite a while so things could change - but if they didn;t and if I recall correctly while ticking "answered" you don't have to point out which post was the answering one - you may do so but you may not as well :)
