I would boost the hull on that Advanced Obelisk and lower the shield modifier. Even the standard t5 (not t5u) advanced obelisk had more hull than that, but a shield modifier of 1.1 since it's not a science ship (or a recluse).
I based it on stats that I read in the Wiki. Maybe I misread or the Wiki is wrong?

could be something to do with skills or mastery as well.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
I thought the obelisk had one of the highest hull caps in game, surely not the same base hull cap of 36k as a dyson science destroyer?
looking at mine, you seem to be right my freebie has a little over 43k and the box for the advance says 47,850 wiki backs this up and last edit was over a year old.

Yeah, I see my mistake. I looked up the stats, but didn't actually edit them in. It were still the Dyson Destroyer values. Adjusted now, based on the Tier5U Advanced Obelisk.

I'm having difficulties trying to think of any ship which were received with less enthusiasm and which were usually only piloted if there is nothing else available (for a long time science and cloak for romulans and klingons) and you propose a T6 version?
I think he has a point there. (And my KDF-Sci loves his DSD, may not be the best ship, but is a boatload of fun) A ship that sold as badly and has as bad a reputation as the DSD is not directly enticing to devs to update. The reasons why it wasn't well received don't even matter that much, they sunk that battleship, eh, destroyer.
The ships weren't bad but the marriage of the proton damage was what made them stink the most I think. Split damage types in this game really don't work. I'd say remove the proton stuff and let the players choose what they want in that fourth slot if they put it in tactical mode.
At that time, yes. Rainbow/skittles ain't as bad as it used to be, though it may need more dedication. Also it certainly is a drawback for many - wouldn't be for me, but I guess if it were an old DSD+, I'd buy it anyway, so that doesn't count.
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
I love my Romulan DSD, mostly because it was the only proper Romulan science ship for a very long time and still better-looking than the Laeosa. I never was able to get the other two to look anything other than awful. They're pretty good science vessels, but that bolted-on proton cannon is like a missing tooth that keep drawing attention or a scab I should know not to pick at.
I'd probably spring for a cross-faction 3-pack if the stats look good, but there's no way I'd buy a 9-ship megapack.
I like the KDF ones and the Romulan ones, even made my Harpia t5u. They were great once they added faction skins.
I would be quite happy if they upgraded the KDF and Rom ones, just address the whole Quad Cannon thing, or make it a console so you can just ditch it, or make protonic a universal energy type that can benefit from any type of bonus, so it doesn't complicate people concerned about tact console energy types.
Do this for Rom and KDF, and give the feds their Vesta Update instead.
The Fed Dyson ship is a beast than needs a holo-emitter, ugly does not do it justice.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Two things turned me off on the Dyson destroyers, or I would have bought a set.
1. That 9-ship pack of lookalikes for $120 was way too much. Pare that down to a 3-pack T6 cross-faction bundle at $60 and I might bite.
2. Hate-hate-hated the skin of the Federation version. Wasn't that thrilled with it on the other factions. Let me put a more standard looking skin on it, and I might actually want one.
While I have my doubts that we would actually get everything proposed (like full spec abilities) it would tempt me a lot more than the originals did provided those two considerations of mine are dealt with.
The Dysons have had access to the regular faction materials for a while now. The rounded shape of the Klingon one just feels off for a KDF vessel. I might run it on an Orion toon if I ever roll one up, though.
I wonder if part of the negative reception is tied to the Dyson in A Step Between Stars. It was kinda cool to have Tuvok and other officers at the stations with unique powers, but the gear is just awful for an escort and I remember it as having very poor science powers. I can understand not loading it down with Dyson rep gear or whatever, but it just had no focus and performed badly even after turning up the weapon power (a common issue with ships you're forced into by the plot).

Uhg..Step between the Stars DSD ...Sucked...And yea It shoulda had some of the Dil Rep gear on it (that would been better that what was on it)..
I would hope they would update the model and design of the DSDs if they upgraded them to a tier six, and I have to say I would not mind a more streamlined an maybe redone design for the federation DSD (just did not yell Federation to me personally.). I actually also thought it would be interesting to see the console have a different activation effect when used in the two modes.

1)...Yea that was abit much..
2.) There are standard skins available. I believe thats what I was using for this shot (Fed variant tho)

However..I pretty much use the Dyson shield skin for my Rom DSD (White does not look bad on that ship)
I Love running DSDs on my Alts. Got the R'mor on my Eng (I run the Wells on my Tac) Alt and the DSD felt better on my Rom (Also..battle cloak)..

Yeah, the model itself is just as much of an abomination as the skin is
