Console - Engineering - Xenotech Resilience Module - Hilarious cool down reductions

[Console - Engineering - Xenotech Resilience Module Mk XIV] Totally Broken - Cools down everything, e.g. Tac Fleet and APA down to 30 sec, triggers stacking AHOD, Kobali console 30 sec. temporal negotiator from 5 min to about a min etc!!!

Posted this in the Bug area but putting it here for general discussion. Question being, how is it that these things never seem to be tested anymore?

Is there actually a test department or is that our job? Do they have any quality control at all now? Recently nearly every announcement/blog/social media page has had mistakes all over it from wrong lockbox announcements on Facebook to wrong information on the new Sovereign release, missing Intel Sovereign fleet ship at first etc. What is going on Cryptic? Is the strain of running multiple platforms showing?

On the plus side, I love K-13, bloody brilliant guys.

How dare you!!! This is obviously working as intended. This makes the game, which is only seriously PVE, much more fun for players and gives people incentives to buy ships for their consoles to use.

Getting them on Tribble requires some hoops. Then actually getting into content on Tribble requires more hoops. So it's not the easiest thing to do even if you have a strong desire to test and help.

Ah, so I wasn't imagining that since I got that console last night.

Just because it works as intended on their server and Tribble, it does not guarantee it won't have issues when it hits Holodeck. They are all different beasts in terms of what's happening at any one time, especially when adding the population's inputs into the mix.

    Lol, that is quite funny.

I can imagine now everyone piling in to K13 to buy these up and not seeing the impending nerf/fix hammer approaching in the distance.
Does seem to be a lot of errors recently though. I wonder if the console release has stretched them too far. ;)

If any good has come of this it means even a well timed sub-nuke from a sci player is almost useless. Even though they would have the ability to use it every 30secs also. Im an avid PvPer, its where i get my enjoyment from the game, as do many of my friends and fleet mates. I can only hope that there is a fix for this soon.

Word is, Cryptic is aware of the issue and a fix is already implemented internally. Expect this to be fixed real soon, maybe on the next patch.

Maybe not for the console, but this just reminded me that i have yet to visit our K13 extension.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Source?

Was in-game chat, was talking to friends who have first hand connections with devs. Spartan was also online on the same channel, but I did not ask him directly.

Ok thanks, let's hope it's a quick one, this is going to wreck PvP and the DPS league figures.

Good thing any sense of balance has been lost there for ages.

"Balance"? You dare to utter that foul word around here? lol. The words 'balance' and 'STO should not ever appear together.
To most players, the word 'balance' means they get all the best toys while the NPCs and the rest of the players get the dregs.

Yeah balance is not in the STO dictionary.

Only lop-sided, overpowered, face rolling powercreep is what matters for this game now.

To be fair, going by their 'correct' stats, they'll still be pretty nice consoles post-nerf.

The consoles will be fantastic. Just a shame their release has been overshadowed by a seemingly simple and avoidable bug

I just hope they don't do what they did to the Research Lab consoles. Those were fixed and nerfed at the same time.

Xenotech consoles look to have had a poke of some sort on Tribble test server according to the patch notes for it. For those that have these consoles, it might be worthwhile to copy chars over to see how they work now.

Friday Tribble patch is a bit odd, either the large size of the patch (a lot of bugs squished this release) needing some testing time just in case or there might be a patch Tuesday.
