If true, it wouldn't surprise me IIRC, the Pilot specialization still had the shiny ribbon and spit-polish on it when the T6 Arbiter was announced. Pilot would've suited it just fine, being a nimble little ship and all, yet it still became intel focused. << Correct me if I'm off with the release dates there. ^^
Anyway, if it will indeed be an intel sovereign, I'll just have to make it look the part Visual slots FTW! The Reman prototype shields maybe... Any other ideas to make a ship look all dark, shady and... you know, covert ops?

There are literally pictures from in game of the name of the ship (Intel Assault Cruiser), the console stats and set bonuses, trait, and the BOff layout... check out lootcritter.com. Very WIP with no new model, but it was at the very least, partially in game for a period of about 4 hours on the morning of the update.

I would wish that it would be tactical as a secondary at least, as much as I am happy to use cruisers on my main tactical toon I would want Lt. Com tactical abilities.

The T5(U) Sovereign is capable of using Lt Cmdr Tactical powers already... mine has Omega 1 on it already. The T6 will even be capable of running 2 different LtCmdr Tactical powers (if you choose to make the Universal seat a tactical officer, like I do).

Ah, it's been some time since I used the freebie AC and I only remembered it being engi focused, I must've overlooked the T5U variant.
wait are they redoing the current model and introducing a new T6???? Just a bit confused here..
Yes to both.
It's being 'revamped' and will be a T6 ship with command hybrid BOFF seating, although it will only be available via the promotion advertised on the STO website homepage.
Speculation is that they may well produce a C-store model with an alternative hybrid BOFF though (would be very surprised if they didn't as this particular ship is a guaranteed cash-cow).
The f?! what promo??? C-store variat I'm still game..But wouldnt be surprised if it comes in for the winter event or something similar like the odessey give away..Also I agree this ship will be a massive cash cow at the T6 level being cannon and all..

You've made me very happy, I don't have to even worry about the promo ship now cause I hate command seating anyway!
Will be interesting to see if the promo ship gets the same treatment as the C-Store intel variant. It may wind up being somewhat 'watered down' in compairison - there can be little doubt that the C-store version will be more expensive than the promotional code one.
Id bet the the Command version is the same ship, with the Intel seat swapped directly for a Command seat. And it comes with the 2nd part of the console set... (which is actually dumb, because that shouldnt be on a exclusive thing...)

I've heard some theories going around, that the promo will be able to equip the set, but won't come with it any of the consoles, and that there will either another T6 variant of the Assault Cruiser that has the Warhead, or that there will be an update on the Regent.

Check the comments of the lootcritter article... you'll see that you are probably not right.
Also anyone know where I can fine the Attack Wing expansion with the code online... I may want to pick it up...

Speaking of which, I was going over that article and noticed something interesting.
The ship trait's description says: Intel and Command BOff abilities reduce ENG BOff ability recharge time.
Now why would the starship trait include a Command bonus when another screenshot shows that the WIP ship only had 1 hybrid seat (Intel).
Sooo the theories I have in mind go like this:
- the promo and the zen ship will probably have the same ship trait, but different seating, so both can benefit (the more likely scenario in my opinion)
- or the final version of the zen ship will have a dual focus (Intel + Command)
Alternatively, if the Sovy won't be a dual focus, then you can take the trait and find another ship that is
Just speculating here.

Both the Guardian and Mirror Guardian (which are in a similar set up to the Command and Intel Assault Cruisers) have the same trait, so the Intel and Command Assault Cruisers likely have the same trait too, purely so no one feels as if theyre missing a trait because they didnt buy something they arent interested in.
This is probably a stupid question but since the Sovereign comes before the Oddyssey's and flagship variants as far as the Enterprise legacy is concerned (E, F, and possibly G) will the T6 Sovereign be in any way inferior to those ships?

They aren't my own theories, and I agree with Reyan1 about the console, even though a Battle Cloaking Fed cruiser, is a bit much.
Just putting it in here, in case someone doesn't check the news section very often:
The article for the t6 command sovereign is out.
Behold, the Vizier class
She looks nice though wondering why the wide angle q-torp wasn't included in the set parts. That and I like the direction they are going with her design; for the most part. She seems a half step backwards from the Regent. The Sleekness trimmed away for a more aggresive look, the engines though they look as though they could loose maybe 25% of their mass. With how they look right now it screams "SHOOT ME HERE" never thought it wise to draw attention or make the engines too bulky for a ship. I am looking forward though to flying her in game.
Space is vast, it's wonderful and maddening. Yet in that madness is some of the greatest beauty I have ever seen.
At the beginning of the article, it is written "this starship features a Lieutenant Commander Universal/Command specialist seat".
But in ships details I read Lieutenant Commander Universal/Intel.
Where is the truth ?

You can't HANDLE the truth!! In all seriousness, as it's been mentioned before it's likely they copied the text from the upcoming INTEL Assault Cruiser [T6] news blog and forgot to change the seat from "Intel" to "Command". The intel version is pretty much confirmed in that WizKids Attack Wing news blog.
When Intel version drops, I'm probably grabbing it while it's on 1st week sale (saved up some arc points anyway)
But I'm skipping the command version.
Well, I won't "fly" the Command version, but it will get a unique original Sovy skin that I want to have and hence I'll buy it nevertheless.
If they'd add both versions to the zen store (and maybe bundle it with the Regent class) that would be like a tiny piece of heaven But I'm not buying a paperweight (not into AW), and I'm certainly not buying a plane ticket to do so. I'll leave that to the collectors. I'll just pocket the intel variant

I would think them adding the wide angle torp to the set would just make better synergy and more bang for the buck. Could give it a nice last piece of the set bonus like "crease the area of fire" or double the metreon cloud aoe when using that wide angle torp. There is a lot of potention for fun and it would add more selling points to get all parts together.
