[XBOX] Gameplay - Skills UI - Romulan - Upon reaching Rank 50 Skills cannot be allocated

STEPS:

1. Reach Rank 50 and beyond with a character in the Romulan Faction.

2. Go to Skill UI to allocate available skill points / Go to Specialization UI to allocate available skill points

3. Select skill desired.

4. Click Accept.

RESULT:

Skill points are not allocated / Specialization points are not allocated.


N.B.

I am aware that there are few threads on the forum regarding this particular issue but I have not found a thread that lays out the bug as requested in the reply from PWE support.

I trust that this will be now be considered as a reported gameplay bug.

A quote from the PWE support reply:

I'm sorry to hear about the skill allocation issue.

Having reviewed the information you supplied, we’ve come to the conclusion that this may be the result of an unreported gameplay bug.

    Anyway, same problem, same answer.
    Here is where all of us with a bug are parked. Forever? Maybe.
    I don't remember an answer after many reports in this forum.

    Glad to see I wasn't the only one that had this happen. Seems word for word the same message I received as well when I put in my ticket. I leveled to 50 during the boosted exp event on my Romulan Character as well and didn't spend the points for lvl 49 and 50, so I have 2 points in the original tree unspendable, as well as the 6 specialization points AND my reputation traits have not been unlocked. Weird thing is that my lvl 50 trait can be used, but its as if nothing after level 50 has been unlocked.

    Are you seeing the same things as well?

    The only reason I am playing this character through this is because the extra dilithium and marks from the events are making it worthwhile. Still is quite frustrating not having access to endgame material cause of this "unreported bug".

    Yes I'm seeing the same.

    Romulan at rank 53:

    1 Ground skill point not able to allocate
    1 Space skill point not able to allocate
    3 Specilization points not able to allocate

    Rank 50 trait working.

    I didn't know about reputation traits not working too as I haven't quite reached Tier 1 yet (Fed is my furthest progress and a Klingon in close third).

    That's an extra bit of salt to the wound then as I was hoping to use Rep traits topatch over the cracks from the missing skill points and Specializations until (if) this gets fixed.

    To be honest I would just appreciate a response confirming that they recognise this issue and are working on a fix.

    My romulan tactical captain, created on the 4th, two days before the 10/6 bug creation update was released doesn't have this problem. Hit lvl 53 on the 10th and only stopped playing them because the story line is bugged out for romulans super badly. What captain classes are you guys that are having the issue? Also what faction alignment? Has anyone tried staying on first story missions and leveled to 50 with an unaligned romulan?

    Checking in to see if there was any progress made.

    I am aligned with the Federation, but I also have the mission "Test of Mettle" which is bugged as its for the Klingon aligned, and says I can get a new ship, but have to got to First City, which as a Federation Aligned Romulan, I do not have access to that location.

    Currently have it lvl 59 (tactical) with no change to availability of reputation traits or ability to place final skill points and specializations. Sort of hoping that maybe if it hits lvl 60 that it will magically fix everything but I don't have my hopes up high.

    Apparently there is an easy fix - if you use a captain retrain token it will reset your skill points so you can then allocate them. It just means that ARC GAMES would need to open their wallets a little in order to 'get around' this UI skills allocation bug. While I haven't tried this solution I do expect it would work and I shouldn't have to pay cash in order to fix a gameplay bug that ARC can compensate us for quite easily.

    I can confirm that using a retrain token does indeed fix the Romulan skill point issue, I couldn't be bothered to wait around for Arc to fix this issue and could no longer put up with my Rom being unduly hampered by unallocated skill points, lack of traits and specialisation points.

    She is now all she can be and an effective force in the world of STO, it is a shame that this is the only fix for this bug.

    It would be a nice gesture if Arc were to refund any Romulans who have had to use a retrain token to correct this issue, and indeed issue a retrain token to any Romulans suffering this issue, I would not hold my breath however.

    Same bug here suport says north reported bug yet. Very good suport really. Exactly the same problem with a Romulan char.
