I logged in after the patch and was surprised to see kit was gone as well as all of my modules. Is that a bug? Some of those modules were expensive or hard to get. I hope I don't have to buy them again!
Not everyone reads every post on the forum... in fact, most people don't read any of them.
Personally, I am somewhat bothered by Phantom Kit Syndrome, where I don't have a kit slotted, but any attempt I make to put one in... results in an error message saying that the item already in the slot can't be removed. Which is interesting, given that there's nothing in the slot. I can still slot, and use, the modules, which is also interesting. My thought is that I have some sort of phantom kit installed, which the game can't recognize, but also can't remove. Bit of a poser, this one.
Since we can upgrade now, are we using the ground tech upgrades? Regardless, thanks for the tip to switch maps a few times. Big life saver there as I'd forgotten a kit that worked really nicely with my build and lost a skill that would be a pain to replace.

Change map. If that doesn't work, try it several times. Eventually the game should complete the conversion process from old to new kits.

Why didnt you unequip them before the patch to avoid such problems like people were recomending.
Way to put the blame on the player.
Seriously, you're really going to fault the guy for simply having his items equipped? I'm on this forum every day and never saw a word about this, I had to log out/in in order to get my kit and modules back.
Zone chat was full of people with the same problem, this wasn't the players fault. It was bugged on Tribble, and as always it was rolled out live without being fixed causing people issues. Lets stop blaming players for lazy game development.
Well guess what. Todays patch worked absolutely great for me. No missing modules n kits, redeemed my code and got all my free goodies, and after tinkering with my display settings the new graphics are amazing. Beautiful game update.

where is the red-head chick with the cookie pic when you need her?
We shouldn't HAVE to work around bugs, but its nice to know you can accept it as the norm.
A simple response of: 'Oh, just zone a few times to fix it'

Rimmarie, i didnt switch any maps for my kit situation.
Well, those that didn't know to de-equip the kits before the patch had issues. And this 'solution' was not as well known as you might think. Like I said, I had no idea, and I'm on these forums every day, how would someone that doesn't visit forums know to do this?
I'm glad you had no problems, I really am, I just disagree with the idea that the OP should have just known to do this. In the end, I got most of my stuff back, but still ended up losing a couple modules. In the end, I just sucked it up and replaced them, it was nothing terribly expensive. I have to admit though, I'm frustrated that they just roll stuff out like this knowing these issues are present. I'm honestly not sure why they even have a test server anymore.
Why didn't you unequip them before the patch to avoid such problems like people were recommending.
Having to remove said gear before the update is 'working around the bugs' as is having to zone to correct the bug.
as it was stated above, not everyone reads the forums and even some that do, missed the whole 'unequip before the patch' thing

Glad it worked out well for you, hence the cookie remark...but this in no way helps the OP or anyone else having the same issue.
As seaofsorrows said, its not the players' fault.
All things considered, we got off lucky.
This was easily fixed.
We could have lost our kits and modules to limbo.
Reminder rimmarie, your response to me "We shouldn't HAVE to work around bugs, but its nice to know you can accept it as the norm. A simple response of: 'Oh, just zone a few times to fix it'"
This is why i said i didnt switch maps hun.
I dont accept it as the norm, just a precaution i heard from someone here and it payed off.

Thanks for the attention though, 'preciate it.
So what you are saying is that you were not offering any suggestions of how to solve the OP's problem, just indirectly saying it was his fault for not knowing what you knew.
Let me fix my response you reminded me of

The 'nice' part is very much me being sarcastic

Well, my Fed Alien ENG has the problem of invisible kit equipped that I can't do anything with. No amount of switching zones, going from ESD / Sol Space / Sector Space / DS9 / completely exiting and returning to the game has fixed it.
Does this "changing instances" also give you modules for the old purple Mk X kits -- which we had in the game before they separated the kits into Frames and Modules ?

The switching will make your previously equipped modules and kit reappear in your inventory (or Overflow-bag). Nothing more afaik.
I only had problems with one of my captains. Switching maps didn't fix the problem, but reloading the captain from the roster screen a couple of times fixed the issue. The 12 extra person inventory slots was nice gift.

I have this exact problem on my main. Invisible kit which I cannot replace. I have gone all over the place to try the "fixes" suggested by the GMs which haven't worked.
The "invisible kit" thing has now been acknowledged as a bug (there's a thread about it in the support forum); it seems to be affecting people who had white standard kits, or Romulan Embassy kits, slotted before the upgrade. Possibly other types as well - the whole thing is under investigation, we've been told.
It's a complete joke that you have to do certain things to get your kits to show up!!! But at least you can get your kits back unlike some of us who have had all of our kits removed with nothing in return. A complete shoddy joke.
