I patched and when I went to log in all text was missing from the game. any ideas? my video drivers are up to date using a radeon r7 200 2gb video card with directx 11 support. I'm flummoxed.

I have the same problem as you, there is no texts even my name is gone.

In the laincher search options, and then search for safe mode, select it and save, launch the game and u can see the text, some players logout and that fix it, but in my case in normal mode i still have the problem, in safe mode the game comes to minimun and see like a nintendo 8 bit game pfffff

I too have had this same problem since yesterday, no text and no numbers. In safe mode it runs but terrible graphics.
On that subject I have up to dat drivers on my AMD R9 200 series but the game does not recognise it as such and my graphics card just stops sometimes when playing, i put in a request but ofcourse no response.....

Same issue with missing text after the game updated yesterday
Updated my graphics drivers just to be sure (AMD R9 200) but no change the game is unplayable at the moment

Having the Same issues and my Graphics can't can't be detected so defaults to the lowest setting AMD R9 290

I am having the same issues also, ive isolated it to STO as other games are running fine, im getting a popup saying Failed system specs check. Currently run an AMD R9 380, 24gm ram and a core i5.

Was working fine until last patch.

ive made sure all GPU drivers and core clocks are fine, but it either just crashes as i load or no words show when i tell it to just load at either minimal or default.

Just checked the patchnotes, fix incomming.

General:

Resolved an issue where players with certain Intel and AMD cards were not seeing most in-game text.
Resolved an issue where control options would reset upon closing the options menu.
Resolved an issue where 23rd Century Captains could not obtain or skip “Stranded in Space”.
Resolved an issue that was causing certain fleet queues to not appear.
Improved the Transwarp location for “Echoes of Light”.

Known Issues:

Foundry functions will not be available for an extended period of time due to updates needed from the lighting update made in this release.
The lighting may be too bright or dark on some maps.
The Resolution setting is defaulting at too low a number on some graphics cards.
Temporal Agents rewards cannot be claimed on characters which are not Temporal Agents on the same account.
Some Kit Modules and Kits not displaying for Captains
