Problems with Login likely due to graphical problems

Could please anybody give me a good advice? STO brole down after I tried to improof the grapic after the last update, and now I have the problem when I try to start the game the screen shows "loading" but nothing happens. Should I uninstall and install the game or is there a way to change the grapic without starting the Game?

    Start is Safe Mode. Your using an AMD GPU aren't you?

    Well it breaks even before I could choose a toon and load safe (just after the Cryptic-screen the loading screen freeze). When I first started after the update it was possible to load but the graphic was very bad. I try to change that in the game, it crashes, and now I have the problem i described...

    Are you using the old fashioned launcher? if not find the cryptic game launcher in the sto file and in that window you go to options and start in safe mode. try that.

    Thank you very much - this advice did help. I was able to log in. However, later on I discovered the same problems like many others, after some minutes and a few screen-changes the game crahs again... A little bit frustrating, I hope this will improof.
