Does anyone know why "waiting for editing server to start up and patching foundry updates" shows up? I have looked online for help and in this fourm and cant seem to find anything that works. I have turned off the "on demand patching" and done a "force verify" as some places has suggested. I use windows 10 but i also installed star trek online on my laptop which has windows 7 and i get the same message. I have signed in it and had "waiting for editing server to start up and patching foundry updates" stay up for the 30 mins before i get kick off. Some one suggest you do this many times as it may take a while for it to update, I have done this at least 15 times and nothing. I checked my newtwork activity during this time and nothing. I have made a new project and go to create and everytime it shows up with that message. I have gone back in and selected that project and hit edit project same message. I have also deleted the project and started a new one and its always the same message.
Thanks
Well you get this message any time you open a project. No matter if it's a project you just started one one you have published. The fact that it's remaining up that long is likely a bug in the system. I've done four projects. Even if I'm just switching between projects that message appears. But in general it's mainly only a minute or two. If you've been able to get in to the project and work on it. Then the only thing I can think of to make it stay up this long is that you aren't saving your project. This will force the editor to load from the "autosave." I don't mean save and publish. I mean save Ctrl +S, clicking save on the bottom left and such.
I've had to load from the autosave a few times. Usually adds an extra minute to the one or two that I have to wait for it to do the update check and all. The updater is a good thing. It means that anytime you're entering a project, you'll always have the current content.
But again, if it's holding out for more than a few minutes. Then it might be a bug. Then again you might just be that far behind on content that it takes a bit to get it all. But it does sound like the autosave/recovery might be the issue here. Anytime you dc, even waiting for it to update, it will look for autosave and recovery content.
Also have you tried going in to your options and turning On-Demand off?
I am not even able to get into a project and get done any work on it. All I am able to do is pick a name for the project and what faction it is for and then create. Everything after that is just the message all time. But I have also installed star trek on my laptop which has never been installed on before and when I login in on the laptop with the same account and try the same thing I get the message.
i put up a post about the PRECISE same Problem . i hear ya. i totally hear ya . the funny thing is, after just doing all that was suggested by star trek itself and all , Now, the option to create content, is not even clickable...... before , i had your problem, now i can't even get into the f******g foundry..... ya, needless to say, i won't be getting a sub to this game, it ain't worth it .

If the button is greyed out then it has been disabled on purpose for some sort of maintenance (I think there is something odd going on tonight with the Foundry and this update.
I have the same problem I haven't been able to get it to load for months, and ive been a long time player since this game was released.
If the problem persists once downtime is complete, create a forum post and include specific detail. For example:
-System specs (CPU, GPU, ect.)
-Troubleshooting steps (what have you tried, what haven't you tried)
-Exactly do you mean by "it" not loading. The editor, the missions themselves?
For the devs to fix a problem they first need to be able to identify it. Be concrete, be methodical, and the chances will be better for problems getting fixed.
