What's Your Most Profitable Exchange Purchase/Sale?

In honor of this topic...

http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1223470/i-get-screwed-over-yet-again

I thought we could discuss some of our best examples of buying low and selling high. I've had a lot of good fortune in my time. But my best is by far my purchase of a Vengeance for 10 million EC. I held it for 3 days with shockingly no message from the seller. Still never received any communication. After this I made a sale for 275 million. Not bad if you ask me. So what's your best?
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

I picked up a D'Kora for 15 mil, also waited for a while with no message from the seller before finally using it.

Back in the olden days when ACC was king, I sold a MK XII [ACC]x2 [CrtH] beam for 30 million.

On Xbox the other night, I found a V.Rare Mk XII Plasma Infuser for 9K EC. Yes you read that right. However, as i prefer running a full Plasma build, I have equipped that.

Okay, well the absolute hands-down most profitable I ever made was technically the fault of Cryptic, and since it might be considered an exploit (even years later after being fixed), I won't list specifics here. Suffice to say, it was enough I had to move that amount of EC onto some alts where it currently resides to this day, simply because I was hitting the EC cap multiple times, and it was only because of the EC cap on several alts I didn't make more money that day.

But for something I can remember just off the top of my head? I'll probably go ahead and list that duty officer I bought for 800k and then turned around and sold for somewhere like 400 million. Yes, duty officers that give bonus Fleet Marks are more expensive than those who give bonus CXP.

I regularily find "rare" items that for some reason get put up for redicilous low amounts and then buy them and give them away to fleet mates...

I often find master keys or several master keys on the exchange for low prices and then buy them quickly. Even found a bugship for 20 mil a short while ago.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Tuffli for 14 million, huge profit on that one, doff I bought with Fleet credits, sold on exchange fo 60 million. (Not sure if that counts though.) I regularly find weapons for 8 or 9 K that I resell for 100 x that.

Saved up 91 million for a Wells (90 million was the cheapest for a long time). As soon as I had it, I found one that cost only 69 million.

Got the Wells and managed to keep 22 million.

I don't remember the exact amount, but I bought the Tal'Shiar adapted Destroyer for around 20M. It was going for 200M at the time, so obviously someone left off a Zero. I don't know if it technically counts as making a profit since I actually opened the ship and used it, I didn't re-sell it.. but obviously I saved about 180M so I was happy with it. I also bought the 'Reciprocity' trait for my Romulan for some ridiculously low price.. I don't remember the number but it was only a few thousand EC, it was pretty much free.

Over the years, I have purchased quite a few weapons with really good mods that were under priced. I think most were from players that didn't know how much 'good' mods were worth and just matched the lowest price of that weapon at that mark. You can make quite a bit picking up Mark II weapons that people think are junk and upgrading them during upgrade weekends for re-sale.

Buying bulk mats like Z-Particles or Rubidium and then selling them individually. It's amazing the profit you can make off that. Also made a quick 10m by flipping a Baltim.

A few months back had some lockbox training manuals listed at a ridiculous price each on the exchange (like 10-20 times the lowest listed price) and bizzarely someone went and bought them all :o which made me a nice fat profit. No idea why they bought my items as none of the low priced ones moved, maybe they had the sort order set backwards. Made me nearly 80M profit there.

As the Ferengi would say I sadly don’t have the lobes (or rather patience) for the exchange.

But what I’m good at is pve which I also run a lot with my fleet mates and in game friends. Two weeks ago I decided to do some cleaning of the inventories of my ten toons and lined up every 999 stack of white and green crafting materials (so no blue, purple or salvage tech). I was quiet surprised that I turned out to be roughly 100M EC richer after a few days.

Boy am I glad that I have not just dismissed all this stuff as I otherwise have no real need for it.

    I sold a lock box for 100EC.

Still can't believe some one brought a free drop item that spams the game.
I'm lazy enough to buy them if I have keys to use. It's not like ec isn't easy enough to come by. It's actually more difficult to get the lock box to drop than it is to get ec.

i was online when the servers came back up after a patch with a new lockbox. buying them in the dilstore and posting over and over i made close to a half-billion ec before they stabilized in price.

i never get to be online for that anymore which is sad.

My brief time as a ship flipper when the Paradox was new.
For the first week of that release, I bought any that were listed for 250 - 260 (average selling point was 300mil EC).

I would repost them anywhere from 300 - 330 mil.

    Sold about 10 that week.
Before finally buying myself one from my flipping profits.

Never been fortunate enough to get a ship or stack of Keys that were missing a "0"

My biggest loss was forgetting a '0" while selling a 10 stack of Keys. Happened once to me, and I learned my lesson.

So, I've never had any real heavy losses, and have never (other then that one time I moonlighted as a ship flipper) made any massive profits from working the exchange.

Though I've made quite a bit of EC from selling R&D consoles (EPS Conductive RCS - PrtG Exotic Particle Exciter)

And I made a nice fortune when I traded all my event tokens for the Elite R&D reward packs (You know, trade in last years tokens store).
Sold about 500 Salvaged techs last time I did that.

Does managing to sell a Kelvin Timeline tribble for a few millions back when a few people knew about it count?

About 3 months ago somebody posted a Manasa for 15,000. Needless to say I flipped and came up about 140,000,000 on that deal. [I held on to it for a day or so just to see if the seller was going to contact me about it - didn't hear anything so off it went.]
