New Doomsday device bug?

Run into the same problem playing two different toons working two different episodes. In the low level mission where you escort the Vulcan ship through the asteroid field I could destroy ships but I could not damage two emitters. I finally just left them behind and got the ship I was escorting to follow me. That way I completed the mission but thought it was strange that the two emitters that were flying around attacking me would take no damage.

Changed characters and started to finish the Doomsday series. Got to the final battle and could not do any damage to the Doomsday device. Nothing could damage it. I could destroy other ships, but nothing that I or any of the other ships could do would cause any damage to the Doomsday ship. It stayed at 100 percent the entire time. I tried restarting the console, changing characters and changing back, moving my weapons around. I did this a week ago on another tune with no problem. I finally had to give up and change tunes.

I'm wondering if the two are related and a specific class of enemy is now invulnerable to damage?

    Nope;
    1. Sounds like you're talking about Gorn Aceton Assimilators - did you try torpedoes or just beam weapons? Because if my memory is certain, they're immune to beam weapons, which just cause them to unleash a radial attack, but can be destroyed by kinetic weapons like torpedoes.

    2. ...Yeah, the whole point of the Doomsday Device is that it's immune to normal damage. That's why you're given the Klingon Bird-of-Prey with the special Harh'peng Torpedoes which are the only way to damage it by firing them right down its throat from the frontal 45 degree arc. It can be challenging since you have to line up your attack run, avoid the Doomsday Device's attack and try not to get killed by the Klingons all at the same time, but with practice it can become just another day at the office - bob and weave in and out at near max range and don't forget to use BOff powers and Captain powers (Evasive Manuvuers can be quite usefull when it comes to avoiding the 'Cone of Death' or quickly coming around for an attack run), but remember that Harpies don't work with High Yield or Torp Spread.

    ^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

    That's it. I'll look and see. Normally at that level I still have a mix on my ships but I could have been all beam this time. I'll look when I get home.

    Thank you. That would be nice to know before I spend an hour trying to figure out why I am not doing any damage. Before I have beaten it with engineers and scientists with no problems. This time I was using a tactical officer and has learned how to set up auto trigger. I could have been using High Yield or Torp Spread. What I do know is I tried for an hour, even going as far as sitting in it's mouth and firing away until the beam would pulverize me.

    Think I have the Doomsday problem figured out. When I tried it again last night I noticed that it was not that the Doomsday ship was not taking damage, I could never get the torpedo to fire. The problem is actually with the bug that is restricting maneuvering. The inability to turn quickly, combined with the narrow targeting of the torpedo combined with the limited range (both min and max) of the torpedo makes it almost imposable to get a shot to fire. What I finally did if position myself at the correct distance from the Doomsday machine, use a buff to enable quick turning to get my aim, and then drift in until I could get a shot off. While the maneuvering bug is active you have to choose between escaping, or getting off a shot. You cannot do both. Just wait for your shot and for death. When you die, you respawn and then work yourself back into position. I could usually get two shots off before death and after 5 deaths took down the machine.
