Lesson to everyone on console, don't buy T6 ships from exchange! There is no telling what you will get and support will not help you. You can't get around them. Zero faith left in this company.
The initial error was on their part, yes they fixed it for players who claimed the ship originally, But.... they have allowed the bug to be passed on to other players via the exchange allowing the bugged boxes to be sold between Players.
It seems that as this is a Player exchange rather than a PWE/Cryptic/Player exchange they don't want to know/address or resolve the issue or the other reasoning to their logic could be that as the box was purchased via the exchange they can't determine if the box was genuinely a bugged one or a genuine tier 5 (If the tier 5 version is in the lobi store) Big Maybe ?
T5 jem hadar boxes do not exist on console. The only jem'hadar ships available are all labeled t6. This is definitely a problem cryptic needs to own up to and fast.
Yeah both were unbound. Both have the label of a T6 ship. But if you get one off exchange, you are out 10s of millions of EC. When you reach out for assistance, the support team takes special pleasure in telling you about the bug but won't resolve the issue.
I wasn't sure if there was a t5 Version in the Lobi-Store thanks for clearing that up. So as console only offers a T6 version of this ship then regardless of how you obtained it, Exchange/Trade/lobi or space magic, if you have been awarded a T5 version this has to be addressed as it is a bug.
No theft, no scam, no basis for this stupid thread.
No basis for your stupid life....
Really though, if you've got nothing to add, just shut up and keep being sweaty in your mom's basement.
I could have bought 3 full retail games for the amount of money it cost me to get those 900 lobi I spent on that ship. Should I have spent so much money? Maybe not, but when you see something listed you usually believe what the listing says.
In any other type of business if you bought something, took it home and realised what you paid for was not what was in the box, and took it back... it would be replaced.
They're really TRIBBLE us here, and it's not cool.
I stepped away from my computer for the weekend because I really didn't feel like being reminded of the blatant screwjob I'm receiving, but things are exactly as I left them before the weekend. Unresolved...
Well as far as an actual fix goes the weekend wouldn't matter. It's always Tuesday.
Let this cement it in their minds though... You don't hand out extra ships like this lol. If they couldn't remove the T5s (Which are impossible to obtain as T5s for any normal console player anyways) they should have made them bound.
Cryptic made a mess out of this one:
could've checked their code upon releasing - didn't do it
could've made bugged ship bound to account - didn't do it
could've at least renamed bugged ships to T5 - didn't do it
don't bother to make amends for their own mess - done.
It said Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier T6, but when I opened it, the ship is only a T5.
Customer Service will not help me.
It happened to me, I made a ticket with what system i was on, my GT, character name and what exactly happened. Also this is not the forum to make a bug report on, go to the feedback/support forums. I started this thread on reddit too, might help. My ship was corrected within 3 days of making a ticket. https://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/53nipb/xbox_1_lock_boxes_and_lobi_store_giving_t5u_ships/
The jerk player got the t6 fix used that box and sold the bugged one like a t6 ship. A player saves up and buys it, opens it, and gets a t5. They are out millions and no t6. When they make a ticket for support, support is responding with "everything is perfect lalalala!" By that response, Cryptic is accessory to an act that is damaging a players account.
Instead they will not refund currency on the fraudulent exchange transaction. Nor will they award the corrected T6. I have inquired further with my ticket to confirm if Cryptic support stands with the fraudulent transactions or with the victims of said fraudulent transaction. I am anxious to see their respons. Just how low will they stoop?
The way they should have handled it is by an npc that sells the corrected t6 ships at the cost of a t6 box. Take the chance and open it or trade it in for a sure thing t6...
Ok... General consensus here is that I should just shut up and let things work themselves out.
Thanks for the help...
Sorry for bothering everyone. Just kinda upset that I spent all that money on something that was falsely advertised.
I wouldn't say 'shut up'. By all means continue to work through whatever official avenues you can to get resolution - you SHOULD get what you paid for/expected.
That said, if it's a bug they are aware of and working on a fix at this point their appears to be nothing their CS/GM can do to immediately help you. I hope you get it resolved, and it sucks and Venting sometimes makes you feel better - but aside from that, restating the situation again and again in this thread probably isn't going to lead to a resolution, as we're all just players and lately they don't pay a lot of attention to stuff in the General forum.

Just got the response from support. They closed my ticket, no action. I directly asked them if they stood by fraudulent transactions on the exchange. The response was "we can't compensate you or reimburse you for this". So apparently Cryptic is ok with scams!
The lawyer will laugh at you & PWE has an A+ rating with the BBB.
Oh, of course, but so many people cry about being scammed, cheated, stolen from, but nobody ever takes it to the next level.
That's because in all honesty - even filing in small claims court, taking time off to go, etc. is usually more costly them what you 'lost' . Also the way Small Claims (in CA) works is once you get the Judgement, it's up to YOU to collect. (IE many people just 'sell' a Judgement to a collections agency if the loosing person/agency fails to pay.) It's one reason "The People's Court" (and other binding arbitration Court type shows) got so many people WANTING to be on as THEY would pay the Judgement AND a stipend for appearing. It still gave both sides 'incentive' as one would walk away with more money.

Well, as grim as the outcome may look, I'm not giving up on it. I'm going to keep putting in tickets. Might not get me anywhere, but I'm going to keep it up.
Next step is the BBB. I've filed claimed with the BBB before, on EA, because they suck. My issue was resolved. I feel like if enough people make enough noise in the right places we will get results.
isn't the problem that people are selling the bugged T5 versionso on the exchange even though it states its a T6.
and if someone buys it they get a T5.
and it seems cryptic are allowing it...
kind of a bad thing to do.
Not surprised one bit by anything from Cryptic/PWE.
Hell, they still support and actively make items that they know full well will go straight outside the exchange and into the black market, so this is just more of the same.
Your only recourse is to stop paying them money, like a lot of people have already done...
