This is also a point I was trying to make. One fix already went through, before that fix went through CS was willing to get on live chat and say a fix is coming soon. Since that first fix on the 22nd live chat won't even talk about the issue and all we get is "we appreciate your continued patience."

There has already been 2 weekly maintenance updates since Salami Inferno made that post on reddit. The first fix came during the first maintenance, nothing at all on the second.

I've PM'd dude on Reddit, no response. CS no response. This big forum post, no official response....

So, in no way "scammed," in strict usage of the term. Just constrained by the martyr-like burden of waiting for fixes to be deployed.

Ah my friend, you will soon learn that the forums are the last place to come for an 'offical response' to anything.

Whilst you may not have had a response on Reddit, you are more likely to receive a response there than you are here.

    I tried reddit first.
I thought the official forums might produce better results, guess I was mistaken.
    Oh well

Over on Reddit, they tend to be welcomed. Here, users have a bad habit of flaming the devs. Can't say I blame them.

Ohh and I can't recall seeing any customer service in General Discussion as there are sub forums specifically for customer service and bug submissions..and this isn't it (as indicated by the sticky at the top of the forum).

"Flaming" being "anything other than gushing, unconditional praise" in this case.

This forum needs a rolling eyes smiley.

Accusing Cryptic of fraud is not looking for sympathy.

Cryptic screwed up, they admitted it, they say they will make it right. Yet they've "scammed" people?

Okay - please elaborate on why "customer services will not help" you - this implies that you contacted them and didn't receive a satisfactory response. Is this the case?

Also, did you purchase this whilst playing on PC or console?

I'm on console, and yes I contacted them. I got the response that anyone who contacts their CS gets " We are aware of the issue...thank you for your patience... blah, blah, blah..." The same copy and paste response that everyone gets. I'd like to talk to a real person, or at least get a response from a real person.

you do realize that PWE customer service is based in either India or the Philippines, and the reps are english as a second language. they have cut and paste for a reason. I've done email CS before and even as a us rep for WSJ, we had canned responses. cut them some slack, they are only doing as they are told

Sometimes a canned response is the correct answer, even when a customer wants to "talk to" (aka heap verbal abuse on and/or make impractical demands to) a "real person"

When 100 people have the exact same question, hand-crafting 100 slightly different "artisanal, bespoke" responses is a silly waste of time.

Just want to add my story to cool things down maybe.

I got a box too. I opened it and got the T5U Dreadnought. As many others did.

A few days later I found another Ship in my Inventory which became a T6 Dreadnought.

Now I have both of them. Which is nice. I didnt even contact support or anything. I just waited as they are obviously aware of it.

Just be patient, I think they have to correct it manually. One by one. Might take a while.

You tell me this is not fraud. This is a direct quote from support :
    "
Thank you for the update. The stated developer resolution was set to be done for ships purchased for Lobi. As of that fact, your character was sent the corrected T6 boxes, whish we are seeing one opened and the extra posted and removed from the Exchange. The box that was later purchased from the Exchange is seemingly the bugged box, and as such is treated as a different ship, and grants the T5 and not the T6 ship. Thank you for your understanding."

Support are flipping idiots that are scamming the money from users. Period. End of story.

Support isn't scamming anyone, nor do they have reason to do so. They are saying that he bought the box off Exchange as a T5 ship, in that it was identified as a T5 ship when he bought it so that is what he got.

Look back through the posts. Users that were given the item in error were given the T6 ship and they got to keep the T5 ship. That is even explained by the CS rep in their comment. Some users that had unopened T5 boxes were then turning around and selling them on the exchange as T5 ships. They were sold as T5 ships and therefore bought as such.

With that in mind, the only scammer is actually the OP, who bought a T5 ship on the exchange in hopes of getting another T6 ship by applying pressure on them to "make good on their promise". He failed to realize these boxes have a flag that shows the devs and Customer Service if the T6 ship has already been claimed against it.

...and now we see show the real scammer is in this scenario...the OP.

There are no t5 ship boxes of the dreadnought on ps4. This happened AFTER they gave out replacements. Still a scam by support. I have video unboxing it as well if you want to go there.

But you did buy the T5 box off of the exchange like they said, correct?

You did not spend lobi like the OP did?

Indeed. Instead of a new ship, what the OP needs is a new dictionary.

Also, even if the OP is correct and he bought a "T6 dreadnought" whatever.....he bought it with EC that ummmmm he was GIVEN by playing the game. The Lobi ships he BOUGHT were replaced by Cryptic. Can't be a scam if you didn't actually "buy" it. You traded with another player. And as the OP has already admitted, he did buy and was already shown to have claimed the T6 Dreadnought, AND the T6 Keldon

So obviously the OP is the one trying to scam as he already HAD BOTH T6 ships that are able to be sold on the PS4.....so why was he buying another one of the ship he already had.....unless he was trying to cry scam?
  • stossr2stossr2 Member Posts: 67 Arc User
The support team is confusing the heavy escort with the dread. I never posted a dread, just the heavy escort.

No, stossr2 is not the OP. stossr2 might have been scammed by another player selling a mislabeled T5 box for EC.

The OP paid lobi, and will have their ship fixed by Cryptic if it hasn't already been done. OP:
I opened the box I paid 900 lobi for.

It said Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier T6, but when I opened it, the ship is only a T5.

Customer Service will not help me.

Thanks Dave for clearing up the OP part.

At this point, I just want the whole deal to be reversed. Either the money back or the T6. This whole thing is killing any enjoyment out of STO for me.
  • davefenestratordavefenestrator Member Posts: 10,656 Arc User
I agree that Cryptic should not be letting people sell "T6" boxes with T5 ships in them on the exchange, especially if they provided those sellers with replacement T6 ships. That's a player scamming you, but if there is no way for you to detect that Cryptic should reverse the sale and take the EC back from the other player.

(If the box says T5 then it's your fault.)
  • stossr2stossr2 Member Posts: 67 Arc User
Agreed, Dave. It is something Cryptic has to fix one way or another. How would one get this through to support to actually get a resolution if they can't understand this?
  • seaofsorrowsseaofsorrows Member Posts: 10,918 Arc User
While I don't agree with the OP, it sounds like stossr2 is getting a raw deal.

If Cryptic replaced a mislabeled ship for someone that got the wrong ship, then that's great. But leaving them with the wrong ship in the form of something that can be sold to another player is also a bad move. They should have a way to make the bugged box bound or replace it with a properly labeled box that will be clearly labeled if listed on the exchange.

If he bought a ship box that said it was one thing and was actually something different, then that is a game bug regardless of how it got on the exchange. Yes, it's a scam by the player that knew it was mislabeled and sold it anyway, but it's also partially on Cryptic. Not just for the initial bug, but for leaving the compensated player with the ability to then scam another player.

I would open another ticket and clearly explain that you were scammed by a game bug. Cryptic should help you with this, and it would really suck if they didn't. I hope you get it worked out.
    Insert witty signature line here.

I have had about 5 or 6 exchanges with support so far on this and keep getting the run around. The person handling the case can't see the difference between the heavy escort and dread.
I have asked for the reversal, but they won't do that. They are sticking to I should have known better. It is enraging and frustrating. My hope is someone sees this that will help get this resolved.

Very correct, I did mean you were getting screwed by another player Stossr2 and Cryptic should fix it. Sorry, my comment reflected your issue and the OP's original issue....and that guy is full of it. I would hope that Cryptic eventually corrects your issue as it's not your fault that you were sold a T6 box that was KNOWN to be bogus.

    Paging @pwlaughingtrendy !

If Cryptic is allowing mis-labeled boxes on the exchange with the wrong ship inside them, Cryptic needs to make this stop.

It's great that you fixed things so that players who spent lobi to get "T6" boxes with T5 ships inside got replacement boxes. But the broken original boxes should NOT have been left unbound for jerk players to scam other players through the exchange and trading. Please fix that too!

This jus takes the cake... i don't care what happens to my account now. This is just I don't know what the word is... just read this response:
    "Hello,

This ticket was escalated to me for further review and I apologize for any frustration caused by this issue. I've looked over various activity logs and can confirm the following took place:
Character "Brun" received two "Special Requisition Pack - Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier [T6]" which is the correct T6 version of the ship.
One pack was opened and the ship was added to a ship slot.
One pack was put into the Exchange but that sale was cancelled and the pack reclaimed.
As the previous GM stated, the fix implemented by the developers was not retroactive, so any packs still in existence, like the one you acquired through the Exchange, would have awarded a T5 version when opened. I'm sorry that you received the T5 version of the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier, however, since you were already granted two of the T6 Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carriers I will not be able to provide any more compensation or reimbursement.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding in this matter.

    Regards"
