Hey everyone - does anyone know how to send items from one of your characters to another? I tried dragging the item to the "subject" box in the mail option, but that didn't work. Does anyone know?

Thanks for the help!

You need to compose the mail from a mail terminal at a space station. Just using the mail service from your ship in space will not allow you to send items.

When you compose the message from a space station terminal ... use your @handle.

There will be 5 boxes at the bottom of the interface. You can place 5 items there.

Be sure to fill out a subject line. And at least have some text in the mail itself.

    Then hit send.

And be prepared, the mail doesn't always synch correctly so it may take you multiple tries to get it to work. It can be a real PITA at times.

    Hope that helps.

Don't forget...you need to claim the items at terminal. You can not claim them from the mail drop down menu.

Related question...is it possible to send credits from one of your characters to another, and if so, how?

    Thanks

No. But there are two ways to do this in-game.

1- Use a friend. You can trade credits to them. Log out. Log back in. And they can hand them back to you on your other character. Obviously, only do this with people you trust.

2- Use the exchange. Take something easy to track. I used to use small hypos. Now I use specific food items. Put them on the exchange for millions and millions of credits as one character. Log out. Log back onto your next character. Search for your item on the exchange. Purchase it. Your other character now gets those credits. The good news is, on the off-chance someone else buys the item instead ... well you just doubled your money. The bad news is ... the way the exchange now works, some items get pushed off the list that shows so you can't do this as effectively as before.

I just start by using the name of the character I am currently on. The drop down will add your @handle automatically. It's just much faster than typing out @Blackavaar each time. For instance, I have a character named Che, so just typing in those 3 letters lets me select the full Che@Blackavaar in the drop down.

Make the subject simple and unique. Something like Starter Weapons or Food 1 works for me.

Lately I have had no problems with the mail not syncing up correctly. Maybe it's just me though.

And btw, you can compose Mail and send items from your ship in one area, Gamma Orionis, but as you are asking these questions you're probably not to that point yet.

It's best to make sure your item is set for an unusual price. You don't want it to be an even number you could mix up with another sale item.

I usually tend to add 333 or 321 to the end of my prices when I am moving funds. It makes it easier to spot the proper item and not get ripped off by people who intentionally put such items up for sale in order to trick people into sending them their credits. Yes, there are people that do that.

Be advised, the Exchange is not meant to be used this way and any credits lost in such a transaction will not be refunded by Cryptic.

Awesome, thanks. I was trying to figure out how to send creds to an alt with no luck. Now I also understand some of the exchange threads I've read that mentioned something like that.

Knowing really IS half the battle!

On PS4 and not getting mail to work. What exactly is @Handle? Asking as I can't send an mail from one character to another. I am using the name that appears where I select my character for play to send mail. Both characters are Federation officers and have first, middle and last names.

I have tried sending to first name and then last name and nothing seems to work. Using the mail system at Earth Spacedock.

Took quite a bit of looking but stumbled across a small post.

CharacterName@handle. Handle = PS4 or XBox handle. As an example: MrScott@Tango where Mr Scott is the STO character and Tango is the PS4 Handle/Account ID.

If you buy Account Bank slots you can transfer items (including account bound that can't be mailed) and credits using the account bank. You can go to the account bank both at space stations AND by going to your ship's bridge then ready room.

LOL it's back from the grave due to all these new console players. Love the game. Really appreciate these old posts as the console is severely lacking in explaining so very much..
