  I'll second that, they've done a fantastic job evoking the original series right down to the camera angles and lighting. Plus the cast and script are several cuts above what you'd expect from fan productions (more so after the early episodes).
  
  Didn't know there was a new one out, or if there'd even be a new one with the Axanar scam crippling fan productions. Thanks for linking it.

  Looks like the Continues guys must have gotten some special dispensation - this was over half an hour long, referenced the original series (and TNG - Captain Garrett, indeed!), and used an established Trek actor (that computer voice was recognizably the inimitable Marina Sirtis).
  
  I'm happy they did, too. The writing quality has been up and down, as was the original, and I'm still not sure Haberkorn is really the right guy to play Spock, but overall it's been a worthy successor, IMO.​​

  They didn't but the episode was nearly completed when the Guidelines were passed down and I believe they have at least one more episode that will be released that was in the process.

  A comment made by Vic in a podcast, suggests that they might... He made comment that CBS/Paramount 'reserved all rights'... All rights, including allowing one production, but not allowing another... I admit, it might be clutching at straws, but CBS have gone to bat for Continues before. It's my belief that they may still be allowing them to continue...

  The company I work for teamed with Grant Imahara, and I got to visit the set! It's pretty incredible. The thing I was most excited to do was to go behind the walls and work the doors while filming, haha.
