About the game being too easy with mk xii vr, I'm assuming that's min-maxed. My half-main rom-sci who has most of the expensive traits, doffs, boffs, but only mk xii vr gear (corrosive plasma dhc) on a T6 Scimitar still takes a long time to destroy even a Vesta in mirror invasion advanced.
DHC on a Scimitar? Dunno, if you don't have a lot of traits/consoles/skills boosting your turn rate, you're not going to get too many hits. Sure, you make them count if you get them.
How many HP does a mirror vesta have in advanced?
NPC ships move so very slowly, and with the new skill revamp shooting from a distance barely results in much DPS loss. Sure, it means defenses will stay low as most of the time one is in reverse or moving very slowly forward, but it is plenty of weapons on target. Also gotta make use of evasive maneuvers, rom cloak, and engine power to full whenever necessary, but otherwise getting weapons on target isn't a problem.
Granted, it isn't that much fun to fly with no turn boosts, so mostly for that reason I dropped a bit of DPS & dmg res in favor of maneuverability, meaning it's easier to flank, move away from danger, and getting the objectives.
