A Master Key mission monthly event Idea

rune1995rune1995 Member Posts: 46 Arc User
Here is a suggestion for a monthly event so the thing is the amount of lock boxes i get in drops is way to much especially as you have to pay real money for master keys to unlock them so here is my event idea what you should do is a special mission event that would happen at least like 1 time a month for everyone not just subscribers that would give either 1 master keys or 125 zen as reward for completing.

the mission would either be a group even like some of those random battle events you see where you fend of a Borg attack with other players or just a normal destroy these ships type of mission and doing so with the reward you can at least open 1 or 2 of those lock boxes you get as drops doing this would give something worth doing each month with a worthy reward.

And get other players to work together to get a good reward.

Lol, so basically your idea is for Cryptic to do a give away of c-store stuff 2-3 times a month rather than make money selling them.

I got a better idea, since I don't open lock boxes except for extremely rare occasions, change "master key" in your idea to read "125 zen", that would fair to everyone rather than having events catered only to those who like opening lock boxes. Oh wait, now they are giving away Zen instead of making money selling Zen.

Never mind, I love this game and want to see it keep going for as long a as possible so let's go with something that isn't going to cut into Cryptic's profits. 2-3 times a month they have a special event that awards a significant amount of EC, with the amount based on a percentage of whatever the current exchange rate for master keys is.
    LTS and loving it.

There is nothing wrong with suggesting it though they may not do it.

Because showing off that the playerbase is full of cheap, entitled brats is a bad thing.

Making a polite suggestion isn't showing off anything other than that one is polite.

As far as 'entitled,' there is nothing about this bug-ridden game that could even remotely constitute as 'entitled.'

Then leave. No seriously...go away. We don't need players like you.

The game doesn't need people who actively spend money on it? Hm. Interesting.

So...what kind of a moron spends money on a free game then complains it isn't entitled to money?!? Man you are some kind of special.

It's not entitled to money. Any more so than players are entitled to nice things.

That's the whole point. 'Some kind of special,' indeed.

Politely making requests is not a problem. Bootlickers worshipping the game and condemning free to play players for not spending money on a product that doesn't meet the bare-minimum standards of the industry, however, is. Where I choose to spend my money is my business. Where other people choose to spend their money is their business. I'm not going to pretend that this game is perfect and then blame them for not forking out money.

If the developers/publisher want more money from more people, they can make a token attempt to add some polish. Players asking politely for features that they feel would improve the quality of the game, whether they're right or wrong, isn't a problem. In this community, the problem is bootlickers.

There was nothing in the OP about stealing. Please, by all means, try to formulate an argument without making things up.

There is nothing wrong about asking for something.

Saying that I'm stupid doesn't change the fact that there was nothing in the OP about stealing. Asking for something is not a bad thing; polite conversation is how discussion and discourse should go.

What was cherry picked? Did you want me to respond to your bit about my spending habits? I brought it up because you defaulted to the standard issue assumption that I was an f2per. There's nothing wrong with admitting that the game has problems and assuming that everyone should pay for it by default is laughable.

Keys are not locked to purchase by Credit Card only.
    Unless you need it fast.

Keys can be bought for EC in the Exchange.
Keys can be bought by converting Dilithium to Zen.

So, there is no need of a special event to reward keys to players for being impatient. Just play regularly....collect your in-game currencies...and spend some of it buying keys.

i know all that info its just you get so many boxes built up and that it take ages to get enough to get a key and i know you can delete them just to start getting them again kinda gets annoying which i am putting up with now but i bet there is someone that hordes the lock boxes.

So...let me get this straight, you can say any stupid **** you want, but I can't reply back to it? Yeah...no. Unless you are a mod, that is not how this works.

You are right, you have the right to say all the stupid your little heart desires...that does not mean it is the right thing to do...or that it will protect you from the backlash of saying said stupid thing. Showing off that this playerbase is full of selfish, short sighted stupid people is NOT a good thing...and that is exactly what posts like this one does. But hey, you have the right to say it...and I have the right to say it's stupid. If you can't deal with that...then stop posting.

i can deal with replies like that and this post is nothing about being selfish saying about doing a monthly event where you give a master key as a reward there is nothing selfish or stupid about the idea as that is all it is a idea in with i thought would be good and something to work on a mission and get 1 as a reward for the only stupid won here is you stupid rude and being a TRIBBLE about anthers post.

And yea you may reply to someones post saying what you think but you don't need to be a TRIBBLE about it or start being rude all you need to do is say its not a good idea and thats it you don't need to call people stupid or selfish and as the saying goes - if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all - or at least don't be rude or a TRIBBLE in what and how you write it.

Ans as said all you need to do is say you the idea is not good or that they wont do that idea so this is the last thing i am going to say to you don't be a TRIBBLE or rude when replying to someones post i will be the better person and not reply to anything els you rite to try and justify you being a rude TRIBBLE.

wow, coldnapalm is butthurt over this non relevant thread. Also what about that hatred towars F2P players? Not only is it a rude generalisation, but also completely uncalled for. Feeling a little entitled because you pay for a F2P game, or what?

Exactly. People pay for some assets to shorten the grind. Others choose the grind. After all, to a certain point, everyone tastes the grind. Or has a regenerable kidney to sell each time STO takes out new-zen-based products.

No need to hate. Just enjoy the STO.

I don't think it's so expensive as all that. However, people can't be blamed for not wanting to pay for a game that clearly places quality control on the backburner.

They used to do that free lobi event, but it was limited. Unfortunately it will be hard to see them do what the OP said considering the business behind the game, but it would certainly be appreciated by the community if they do.
But one of the things I like about STO is the fact that there is a way in which one can earn zen and therefore earn keys via the dilithium exchange. Granted it is a grind, but not many other MMOs allow people to obtain premium currency using obtainable in-game items.
