Can somebody go over Team and Fleet mechanics?

Fleet is like a guild/clan/league right? Big group of people working towards a common goal.

Team is just 2+ people working together temporarily ??

I basicly just want to know what kind of content 2 people get to run in this game? Do you get to run through the normal missions in space and on the ground?? If you goto the ground is it just the two of you or are all the bridges officers with you?? Do you not get to do normal missions and you instead have to do some special team missions??

Im not very social but I do have 1 friend who I like to play with and they do no like Star Trek so I need to know what kind of fun we could be having to try and sway them lol.

The main draw with Fleets is the special equipment available once a certain about of resources are available.

Teir 5/6 Fleet Ships (Typically have more sheilds or hull and an additional Console seat(sometimes)
Dmgx3 [Mod] Ultra rare Weapons (Cheaper alternative to crafting weapons)
    Fleet Space and Ground gear.
Fleet Warpcores/Singularity that start at Ultra rare with AMP and other modifiers (Very good if your not running a 4 piece Rep Set)
Specialty Tactical Console that boost your Crit H (Hit) or Crit D (Severity) for the Weapon type you have Chosen.
Specialty Engineering Consoles that Add armor AND Healing or other mod.
Specialty Sci Consoles for Plasma explosions or 2 Mod boosting Particle focusers.
    Fleet wide Damage bonuses.

Many of the Mission can be done with other players, with a few that must be done solo..So Team up with your friends (I hope they are the same faction as you and go to town)

Good question. I have been playing on and off since 2009 and I still do not understand the appeal of fleets. Most are bloated with inactive players or players with little to no tolerance for beginning folks. My advice would be to invite your friend, team up, and have fun that way.

Some fleets are this way (no tolerance for new people), But not all of them. I was invited to the fleet Im in now and all they have done is help me with my gear, builds, tactics..Inactive players happen, Some fleets are more active about recruiting active members.

And what happens when you get to the ground when you are teamed? And it looks like you get level restricted if you go back through lower content as a high level.. or you match levels with the person your teamed with??

Well.. Hopefully your teammate is lvl matched with you (I dont know how easy that is on console but its fairly easy on PC)..Otherwise, if you bring your Bad Azz Lvl 60 Terminator fleet mate into your lvl 10 mission ..all enemies will be at his level..

Level matching is more complex than that. First, all missions scale to you, so replaying old missions levels them up not you down. The only exceptions to this are some of the battlezones, for example kobali prime.

Second, when teamed you have the option whether or not to match "grade" aka level with the team leader. Changing who is leader changes everyone on the team.

Enemies in a mission are set to either the level of the leader or the first person to enter the current map WHICH EVER IS HIGHER.

So if your level 15 character joins a level 60 friend, you become level 60 and fight level 60 enemies. If your friend joins you, he will be level 15, and you will both be fighting level 15 enemies. Unless he loads onto the map first, then the enemies will be level 60 and you are screwed.

as a note, i recommend setting team loot to "round robin". that way you don't need to worry about the annoying need/greed popup.

As for fleets, if you are in a dead fleet leave it. there are plenty of active ones about.
