Officers Afoot.

For YEARS, our Bridge Officers have been unable to walk properly. They stutter and stagger along, as we see in this video:

Now, you may notice that Chekov walks properly. That makes me wonder why they still can't get our BOs walking properly. They glitched this so long ago, and it's been a thorn in my side ever since. I think it's about time it was fixed, since we see clearly here that NPCs CAN walk properly.

Walking properly is a Russian invention, after all.

The female drink servers can't walk at all in the Romulan embassy mission with the Na'kuhl. They slide across the floor.

it seems to be determined by how the NPCs do pathfinding. Boffs constantly recalculate paths.

Mine can't stay still for more than three seconds. They're always running around behind me

And that's why the federation banned romulan ale.

On a more serious note that's part of a bigger issue, AoY broke like 80% of game's animations. Hopefully they'll be fixed again but it sure dosen't look like it so far.

As for boff pathing, it was always terrible, Cryptic just built around it by making newer levels more boff friendly. Wider corridors, no protrusions on the walls, etc, etc. Doubt that's gonna change in the future.

The mission where you board a Sphere in the Kelvin Timeline (Terminal Expanse?) shows that boff pathing remains terrible. Narrow corridors and uneven floors give them fits, so you practically have to run it solo sometimes because your entire party got held up at the six-inch curb around a pit (or got stuck in the pit). I think one cutscene teleports them to you so you have a little back up there.

And the animations, whoof. It's almost as bad as that stretch where people would fall through the floor and deliver their lines with just the tops of their heads showing through a chair. It was like cutscenes would run perfectly the first time you saw them and then the server would get bored and just TRIBBLE around with how it renders things.

He might use fixed pathing instead of the dynamic pathing boffs use. I've noticed a lot less stuttering when my character moves at a constant speed in a single direction.

I just load in redshirts, let them all die and then run the rest of the mission solo. My crew is down about 350 security personnel, but this is the canon way of doing things, right?
