Creating Bios

Hi peeps,
I have named all my Romulan Bridge crew after Greek Goddesses & had the idea to include the historical account in their bio, but the first one I tried, after clicking 'ok', I had a message that said ''Invalid Bio''.

I include the text below for anyone to tell me why it is Invalid? If it is a simple case of using words that are used in the game then 'HELLO', everything we name in space is named after these very & other mythological characters. I know we can't use Character names from the series, but I managed to name my bridge crew with these names?

''Aphrodite was the Goddess of Love & Beauty.
According to The Odyssey she was the daughter of Zeus & Dione, other myths speak of her as springing from the blood of Uranus after Cronus castrated him. She floated on the sea to Greece where she was met by the Three Graces. The latter is the more accepted version. She was Great Grandmother to Dionysus (who she also had a child by). She was married to Hephaestus, the Smith God, but she lusted after Ares. This is probably why she became the Patron Goddess to Prostitutes.''

knowing how the filter works ingame and if was written by the same person who did the forum's...it's probably hanging up on the 'TRIBBLE' portion of uranus

either that, or it doesn't like castrated - hell, maybe it's both

Try to remove "prostitute" and see if it works. I'm pretty sure they don't want that in a character's bio. (and a word filter isn't able to tell context, so that's irrelevant)

EDIT: Confirmed - it's the buzzword, I tested it by simply adding it on the bottom of one of my characters bios. You have to find a synonym.

This game can be very pure-minded about some sorts of references. While I don't know for sure, the first thing I'd do is remove anything that might cause a maiden aunt to blush in about 1890, and then see if it goes through.

The censor is not consistent, as it happens - I've seen ships and toons with obviously obscene names, but things like character bios (and, for that matter, forum posts - talking about male chickens, or the author of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? gets kind of complicated around here) seem to be more rigorously vetted.

(Personally, I think it's silly... but, their house, their rules.)

It's unfortunate the game doesn't let you know what word it doesn't allow. Although in this case "prostitute" is an obvious one.

Could always change prostitute to the word "Sloot"

Yeah. being as all my mains ships are named after sci-fi writers, I was very upset I couldn't use the name Phillip K Richard (well kinda tricky anyway) for one of them.

yes, thanks all, it seems obvious that it would be the word Prostitue, they might think someone is offering the service on here orsomething, altho' the ships called Escorts seem to be fine, lol

my suggestion would be to replace suspect words with alternative's for example "This is probably why she became the Patron Goddess to fallen women."

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Because Kirk blew up their power supply back when he killed Apollo.

Now they're just ladies in togas.

The filter will yell at the word "butt" even. I write my bios and then copy paste into sto a couple times until I find the words it doesnt like.

    @gavinruneblade

I wasn't pressing the OP; Just miserably failing at my "humorous" allusion to Star Trek V. I should have just rolled the clip.
