anyway of disabling the stupid pop-ups

anyway of disabling the stupid pop-ups, everytime you get near a planet or system, becouse their in way, the number of times I've been unable to start a mission becouse I needed to be at a certain point hidden behind that stupid pop-up listing all the foundry missions for that planet/system

I disagree that they're stupid. The Foundry Top 3 System is one of the greatest changes to happen to the Foundry in terms of getting players to play these missions.

There isn't a way to disable them, but look closely at the system you're in. All Cryptic Missions start at a specific planet in the system, but all Foundry Missions start at the sun. Just locate the labelled planet and you're good.

Click the little arrow above the Top 3 list to minimize it. This isn't going to solve anything about the mission start prompts not coming up, though. If you're getting Top 3 but not those, you're just not close enough to the planet, it doesn't "block" anything.

I'd really wish they would "upgrade" the Top 3 system to show ALL missions available at a system. A single line under the system description tagged as "Other available missions" would be less intrusive than the Top 3 (see OP) and would take people to a Foundry menu listing ALL missions using that system as a doorway. That way even multi-part missions could be played by the average STO player instead of being 'lost' in the Top 3 (for example, Part 2 of a series has good reviews - so it shows up in the Top 3, but parts 1, 3, 4, and 5 don't have enough so are excluded. And we all know how terrible the search interface for Foundry missions is (see sig), so those orphaned parts will never be played because they will never be found/seen)

The popups themselves may not be stupid, but the fact that they aren't optional is patently idiotic as are the usual arguments that people who made the missions put a lot of work into them so people shouldn't be allowed to ignore them. It's a bad enough to impose those interruptions on free players, but it's an obscenity and an insult to impose on subscribers who PAY to play this otherwise free game.

They don't exactly take up a lot of space on-screen. And the system entry option shows up anyway.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

There's already a way to hide the top 3, it is a non-issue.

Wow. First post and you send off a rocket barrage.

First, the popups normally have the Storyline mIssion posted right at the top of the popup. Provided one has clicked on the Mission in the Episodes window. Prior to going to the system in question.

Second, without any verifiable proof, I call BS on your implication you are a paying customer. After all this is the InterWebs. Where people can be as important as they want others to think they are. Because there is absolutely no way to call them out when they are fibbing. The technique is called the Big Lie. Invented by a fellow named Himmler back in the 1930s. Pretty useful for folks with far too big an opinion of themselves. Just sayin'. BTW, when you've spent as much as I have on this game over the last four and half years, then you're entitled to an opinion. Send me your addy and I can send you the reciepts. Unlike so many around here, I can back it up when I say I've spent money on this game.

Lastly, the Foundry authors really do put a lot of work into their missions. Some of which are far better than anything Cryptic could ever hope to do. Your blatant disrespect of these people is rude, ill-mannered and deserving of being reported to the Mods or Trendy.

    1. What interruptions?
    2. What obscenity?
    3. What does paying have to do with anything?
    4. Have you tried clicking the icon next to the top three suggestion list?

This is easy to solve. All cryptic mission show on top of the the foundry missions. There are two different sections. There is even a arrow on the foundry missions to close them down so you don't see them on the pop-up.
