Bajoran Solar Sail Ship

fluffymooffluffymoof Member Posts: 430 Arc User
This would make a beautiful cosmetic ship for in-game. It would be a small craft where full impulse would involve the solar sails coming fully out. At lower speeds, the sails would stay close to the craft.

To make it enticing, it can come with a Universal Console called "Bajoran Solar Sail" that would be restricted to small craft. It would work as an energy reducer, reducing the energy strain caused by higher speeds by X% (since it's a solar sail and not an engine).

I think just adding it as a ship (particularly a small craft) wouldn't really be worth the investment for Cryptic - they'd need to sell it a lot or at a ridonkulus prize to make money from it. Both interior and exterior would probably need completely new components and style, which is a lot of conceptual and implementation work.

Put it in the context of a mission or series of missions, and it might get made. Think of how often the VOY interior was used for Delta Rising - something used with similar occurrence could be worth getting made.

Yes, the Cardassians are clearly superior because they know that they should bow to those who are their betters, and the Founders are everyone's betters.

Better than Bajor is a pretty low bar.

I was actually hoping to see that ship as a Summer Event ship.

It is true that most races in the galaxy are better than Cardassians when you put it that way.

Only if the Mirror Bajorans come along and liberate the prime Bajorans from their blind devotion to the aliens in the wormhole.

Death to the worm hole aliens! ... and those in the cave!

so what your saying is you want a bajoran lock box or a new item for R&D packs O.o

This game needs more Bajoran stuff if only simply to see all Bajoran haters erupt in flames.

Unlike the Bajorans, Cardassians know superiority when they see it; pragmatism over superstition.

That's an interesting way of saying they're even less honourable than the average Romulan.

    Anyway, on-topic:

Seeing some different ships would be nice. Besides Bajoran ones, I'd also suggest more Xindi and Herald ones that can actually travel a lot faster using gateways or vortices.

Yeah, clearly the worm hole aliens are superior in some way. Or just amazing wizards, that's also possible of course :p

Yet the Cardassians were kicked off of Bajor by us "lowlifes".

I'll light some incense at the Temple and say a few prayers for you all, perhaps the Prophets will show you the path.

Go in peace with the Prophets.

    As for the Topic.

I would love to have the Solar ship. It would make a great addition for any Bajoran character.

HOWEVER, it would just be useless, as even shuttlecraft are better equipped. This ship has no weapons, no console slots maybe 1 or 2 Engineering slots. I can't think of anything in STO that would use it, and if it was brought in as say a Replica like the NX class. your still looking at like a T1 ship.

So as a Bajoran I would love it As a Player, the devs have better things to do than add this ship.

Don't the mirror bajorans believe in the prophets as well?

More along the lines of ascended ancestor spirits or exemplars to be emulated, rather than real-deal divine beings to be worshiped. Hand-in-hand with that, the "Celestial Temple" is seen by Mirror Bajorans as a sort of path to enlightenment through virtue. More of an abstract state of being than an actual place.
"So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again."

Incorrect, it was the mirror counterpart of a deceased Bajoran Vedek who crossed over to the Prime universe while working for Intendant Kira.

In the STO mission 'Jabberwocky' it's the other way around.

Some Bajoran Vedak called Eeth goes to the Mirror Universe to do stuff.
