Not sure, there's usually box's for collecting them but did the item for collecting them all showed up oddly for me, didn't unlock anything for me...meanwhile the Gamma probe seems bugged since it's doesn't seem to exist, I know because I have tried at least 3-4 times, nothing spawned.

That is a frustrating mission to do 1 time!!

the gamma probe is in the asteroid field with the swarmers. you might have to search the whole thing... Also, if you warp out and re anter, the probe location will be re-randomized, and maybe an easier to find location.

There's a ship trait that unlocks, iirc. Not in the game at this time, but there is a reward for finding half and finding all.

Or it's a choice of marks. I really don't remember off the top of my head.

It is in one of several random locations on the second map of the 4, that is: empty map, map with ferengi + swarmers (THIS ONE), map after ferengi leaves you behind (might not be considered map change, not sure), map with Vorta.

    Reddit list of locations.

Note for probes with cutscenes, once you watch the cutscene you need to interact with the probe again to say to wipe it clean. I had to re-do The New Link because I only watched the movie :(

Operation Gamma Shows the probe as objective on 3 different maps.
I have searched all 3 for at least 20 minutes each and didn'T find it - and I played that Mission twice.

Same btw on facility 4028 - on which the probe apparently is unaccesible (or at least for some).

Those two are the only probes I haven't been able to collect. I have given up on those two

When I did 4028, it took some of the storyline to get it accessible. Then a Nakhul appeared afterward while EVERY SINGLE NPC HELP needed to have "Save the Stupid" played...because doors are impossible for them to get through and I can't directly control two NPC's.

I said several expletives that day...

Also as for rewards - any probe has chance to drop one of three: Nahkuhl enemy operative, some crafting components, or some gear (blue Mk XI for me - i'm playing on normal difficulty),
also each probe unlocks choice of 25 marks (any marks - including the Temporal Reputation), accessible from the temporal comunnication gizmo,
also half of all probes gives some personal space trait (i think it's one that shortens cooldown on Tact/Engin/Science Fleet power),
all probes unlocks improwed version of the trait (also from the temp. com. gizmo - for the Temporal Agent, other toons on account can then acces the trait from Temporal Representative - the one on Earth Spacedock / First City)

Well, I intentionally did this part of the mission 4 times just to generate a sample size. 4 is still kinda small, but enh. 2 of them were in the asteroid field where you can easily find them. Never found the others. Someone in chat suggested looking on the map floor. Not the south edge, but dropping in altitude all the way down.... Looking back it may be significant that the two I found were on TOP of the asteroids as if they were resting on them, not floating free. A long time ago Cutting the Cord had a similar bug where one of the targets you had to hit on the donut asteroid would fall off the asteroid and drop vertically to the floor of the map.

Took this suggestion and found a probe on the map floor. Looks like the bug is back.

I found the probe on the floor of the map as well. I am glad I found this thread. I had been looking for about 20 minutes for the thing. Mine was near the placement of the Ferengi ship, in the chain of asteroids just to the north, but on the floor of the map.

Whoever thought a randomly spawning tiny entity in the space map should have no constraints on its spawn areas was a good idea, should be slapped. This is literally simple game design 101 don't do this kinda stuff.

Pretty much this. I am quite frustrated and still haven't found the blasted thing yet.

Either: A ) Be predictable with your spawns in large space maps, B ) Do not include them in space maps or C) allow us to locate it with the V key.

Found mine right next to one of the things I had to scan as a Sci Captain. When I unlocked it, some poor dumb Na'kuhl stepped through a portal to see who was messing with their temporal probe. And we thought the one in the Vault had a bad day...

Fourth toon through Operation gamma, first one to actually find it. Took out the shield gen, headed to the first objective SE of tat spot based on the reddit info of probe locations. As soon as I got close to the asteroids my BoFF sang out that it was nearby, I actually got the pop up to scan it before I ever actually saw it.....it was within the surface of the asteroid. Not in the doughnut hole area but literally buried within the asteroid surface with just a hint of red glow on the asteroid surface where it was buried. I wasn't sure that was actually it until I scanned it and watched the red glow disappear.
    LTS and loving it.

Here's a perspective view of where you'll find it. The probe is where the others have stated; the cluster of asteroids shaped and in the direction of ^. tp-operation_gamma.png

It found it hidden behind an outcropping on the right side and down on the Asteroid you blast the force field generator on. That was my second run, but fortunately I was going to run Gamma twice anyway for both pieces of the Jem'hadar Space Set in that Mission.

had to do it twice, first time it didn't show up (45 min wasted), second time I found it after 2 minutes. The silverlining is though, that I got 2 parts of the space set.

sry if I'm repeating something someone else may have said, but the Temporal Probes have a couple of different locations that they may spawn at for each mission. So they may not be in the same place the next time you run that mission. Noticed this when I ran the mission on the mining colony with the horta. One time it was in the hallway, another time it was in the prison part.

i did it twice both times for me the probe was down and to the right the first asteroid when you leave the asteroid where the ferengi ship is in (leaving the other side from where you go in)

    I needed 2 play throughs.
Mine ended up being on one of the middle asteroid, pretty much like @drsanity image shows.

The major problem with this mission is that the notification pops up a map early, you actually have to warp to the asteroid field space map to find it.

Fun times, combing the wrong map for 45mins. :grimace:

Adding these the the v scan would have been nice tbh, given their possibly random placement.

Supposedly they ARE findable with the V scan, though I stopped being able to find them with it on kuvah'magh. Zooming in on the map and hovering the cursor over any and all white / grey dots is the best way I've come up with to find them now.

No they are not... they are treated as NPCs and so do not show up with V scan... thou they are often placed near resource nodes so you can spot them. Test it out... find a temp probe but dont clear it... clear out all resource nodes on map/and sparklies that are on map... then hit the "V"... you will come up with a blank even if your standing next to the temp probe.

if your in range they show up the mini map as a white dot like all other npcs.

as @freightstopper and @tigeraries mentioned they are treated as NPCs and show up on the map - if you are close enough to them. Hover over any white dots you see until you see the one that says Temporal Probe. this if very useful on space maps with lots of little things all over the place.
