What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

ARC Quests has become an exersize in futility

ok if you are happy to play the system and run launchers for games you will never play there are still ARC points to be gained but if you play it strait and only play sto it appears the ARC points well has dried up.
I was able to get the first 500 zen reward from a mixture of sto related quests and ARC related quests but its absolutely ages since I have seen a sto quest or even an ARC related quest.
it seems to me that perfect world would rather reward what I consider to be cheating or exploiting the system then actually being honest and only gaining points for games you are actually playing or for running that games from the ARC launcher.
I have had loads of quests for Neverwinter, Battle of the Immortals and such others that I don't play many times over but not one sto quest among them.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Still getting loads of log into arc for x days quests so maybe you are just unlucky? The awards do seem a bit less than they were at the start though for the longer duration quests.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

The system was always meant to encourage people to install more games, not give free Zen just for playing what you've always played.

I've had a couple of sto quests, but frankly they want you to look at the other games. Pretty sure that why its a mixed bag.

Its a bit easier for me since I got STO, Neverwinter, and Champions. But there are periods where I get quests I can't do so I skip until I can.

Erm, ah, well, 's like, erm you know Arc, PWE, stuffs, so, erm, WAI. Suck it up.

Good way to avoid issues with Arc quests is to just use the OG installer [Is OG too far? Seems kinda Gangsta to me!?]. This way you never have to wonder which new shiny you have to buy, in whichever C-list "Eastern" styled generic MNO [sic (Multiple Numpties Online...)] that is currently desperate for a metric* rush... *More of a Foot and Inch man myself.

They are giving you free money. Why would you expect them to do that just for playing STO? It seems perfectly fair to make you try out their other games in order to earn free money that is free. And money.

I fully realise that but I would have expected to get at least some sto or ARC related quests pop up from time to time as they did up to the time I got my first 500zen reward, I think you are wrong though when you say "The system was always meant to encourage people to install more games" the intention is actually to get people to play more games and that is where the exploit comes in to play, many may be happy to reap the rewards and never actually play the games where as I am only comfortable reaping the rewards for playing sto or using ARC, I guess if this means I will get no more rewards then so be it, at least if PW realise they are being taken advantage of my conscience will be clear.

I have been using the daily skip feature but the deleted quest is just being replaced by yet another quest that is uncompletable without installing games I wont play and there I wont go.

I get dry periods too because I only have the Cryptic games. But right now I got 2 for STO and 1 for Arc itself, and I just finished one for Neverwinter. Its just random. Gotta roll with it.

Going the other route would either be a simple timer of having the game running or require a more elaborate method of measuring than what the launcher is capable of.

I know it's popular among certain forum users to claim PWE as all kinds of incompetent, but come on. This is not the first game platform that rewards players for participating in an advertisement scheme. They know players will install and run without actually playing. Just like platforms that have a "watch ad video for premium currency" -system know players will start the video and get a cup of coffee while it runs instead of actually watching it.

It's not some clever scam. They are not "being taken advantage of." It's advertisement. The goal is to bring their products to people's attention. Their bean counters have calculated that getting a "foot in the door" by players installing and daily running new games is worth giving a little bit of store credit. Some of those players will be interested enough to actually start playing something.

A complicated mechanism for detecting players "actually" playing the games would've both cost more to develop and reduced the advertisement value of the system. Because if players were required to spend significant effort to qualify for a reward, they would be more likely to skip the new games and just play the game(s) they'd play anyway, defeating the entire purpose of the system.

Shhhh! Let em keep complaining so the Arc quests get removed completely.

Eventually that's what's going to happen if they complain about getting FREE stuff.

System created to encourage you to try out other games is more rewarding if you try out other games?

    Shocking.

You're getting lucky. I haven't gotten 500 Zen yet. Still working on it because Cryptic's games don't seem to come up quite as often. Although I am getting pretty lucky on that right now.

I guess it makes sense in a strange sort of way, players took advantage of higher then usual XP that cost nothing after Delta and they threw a fit, players took advantage by hording event ship tokens that cost nothing and they went ballistic but they are happy to shell out 1000's $$ worth of zen for players to run game launchers for two seconds yet never actually play any of the games and they are happy for players to take advantage because of the extremely remote possibility that some might indeed try the games out, I guess that's product marketing at its best for you.

    EDIT:
of course the downside of never getting any quests I can complete is eventually I will tire of even looking at the quest list at all so this is counterproductive to their product marketing scheme in the long run, at least if I get the occasional quest as I did when the system first started it keeps me looking and maybe possibly deciding to give one of these other games a try even if this is unlikely.
advertising games via the quest interface is only any good if players have a good reason to look at the quest interface in the first place, only ever giving quest that I cannot complete like it has been for the last month or so is bad for the system.

the xp thing was a glitch with level scaling. Yes, it was legitimately an exploit.

Hoarding event ship tokens? I'll have you know that they gave me a king's ransom for my hoard. :p

Meh... Ain't got time to play any other games except Fallout 4. Not going to bother with Arc Quests. I'll just buy my Zen with real money or use the Dil Exchange.

Sorry I misquoted games. I have five STO, Neverwinter, PWI, Starconflict and Torchlight which I got for free from Arc. All of those pop up enough for me to get 500 zen a month. I don't even have to play them. Just click on play and let update if needed. Right now I have Arc quests for STO play seven days for 500 exp, log into Arc for four consecutive days for 150 exp and log into arc for eight consecutive days for 350 exp. I dislike the consecutive days ones because I don't usually log in every day. If you don't log in every day for those they will reset to zero and you have to start over again. Call me lucky if you want but I don't mind logging in to get free stuff.

I don't mind logging in to get free stuff either. Only having 3 games myself means I get longer dry spells. Hopefully soon I will be able to get some free Zen.
