Would you like to see Party devices, as well as other troll devices, restricted to risa?

thevampinatorthevampinator Member Posts: 637 Arc User
This does need to be done, they do need to make the party devices where they can be only used on Risa. Or on your own bridge. I think it would help with performance, as well as stop trolls from harassing rpers, as well as others. Ruining peoples gameplay expierance.

All this does is drive players away. Now if swim wear, is restricted to risa, all these party ballon devices as well as party balls and other things need to be restricted to risa as well. I know this will hurt those that like to abuse them. But yeah its also a hassle for normal players with not very good machines. It does lag the server. I think this is important for them to address. I have payed like hundreds of dollors to get zen, and I don't feel apreceated nor do others. I do feel that Cryptic needs to for there sakes, do more to address trolls and harassment. By restricting the party devices this can remove a lot of the hassle. Making it better for the player base and the sever.

The party balls themselves don't have to go, but the other things do. Like ballons and other things. They do need to be restricted. party balls at least should have a far longer cool down. Like 5 ten minutes after use (edited because I did not mean five hours but yeah a ten minute or five minute cooldown*) They should also be unusable in quarks or donzana station. But can be used everywhere else. This could help bring more players back, as well as help preformance. To show that they do care about everyone else. I know people like to have fun with the devices but when they are getting abused its only fun for a certain group.
All I ask is that they at least make it so people cannot abuse the devices.

Note they could make party and places where they can be used non stop, risa, a party place, which would be fun for birthday parties, I know there is dj events that happen. this could be used to bring the party types in. To premote it. They can also add party halls to earth like clubs. As well as party hubs on betizod, risa, and earth, plus trill prime. I would be happy for this this would add new areas to the game as well as maybe bring more events like dj events and other give away stuff events a place to do it in. With no 30 per instance limit making it like fifty per instance for these locations.

Yes for the love of your players that give you money restrict the devices to risa where they belong or ship bridge.

Uh oh. *Grabs cup of tea*

Seriously, though, I'd be happy if the nullifier item would just eliminate the whole experience, forced animations, rediculous visuals, and annoying sound. For me alone, that is, I don't want to rain on anyone else's fun.

As for the OP's request, it isn't feasable since Cryptic added those doffs which add practical/functional buffs to a certain party item. Sorry dude. :/

Well, that certain fleet, I guess was told they had to stop and deal with the trolls. I guess cryptic was getting sued or something because of it. Not sure if its true or not. But thats another very good reason why they have to deal with this. I know that certain fleet, and its kdf counterpart have done some good but they are very known for the abuse of these devices. I have no problems with them having fun, but not at the expense of other peoples fun. How would you feel if someone walked into your house and peed on your carpet. Its not all about those two fleets. I know they do a public service, but they are not doing a public service by driving a main part of the francize away. The roleplay is a great part of startrek just as much as it is for d&d and other series.

While I agree with you on the party balls, and disagree with the fleet in question on a number of issues, I'd like to state for the record that I have not taken part in any bashing of good oral hygiene.

I find this kinda ridiculous. While they are a nuisance this goes to far.
Why dont you just get a nullifier? What does it matter if others dance uncontrollably?

No. They put nullifiers specifically so people can't be forced to dance under those things if they didn't want to. I have them on all my toons. Well, except my three newest.

Anyway, let people have fun. The balloons don't bother me either, and if I want to dance under a ball there's always the dance emotes that will let me dance in any way I choose, rather than the mix.

The nullifiers only cost 100 GPL, very easy to get.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

I do not see them that often....so I consider it a novelty when I do....and partake in a break for a dance. No biggie, for me.

If some individuals completely melt down with innocuous flashing lights in a fake spaceship game then how do they deal with things in the real world like using a public toilet?

Came in to post this. I like to pop a disco ball for the extra buff right before a boss fight and I'm already slightly annoyed when anyone has a nullifier because it keeps them from getting the buff.

qft. I hate the disco ball TRIBBLE, but at least in the social zones you usually have another instance to escape to. now if the trolls follow you then the GMs should step up and start banning

Well, just as you're entitled to pop disco balls wherever they're allowed, others are entitled to own a nullifier. It works both ways.

If they need restricting then restrict them from ESD, First City, and New Romulas command and the Flotilla. (EXCEPT when q is present. after all q likes to party!) And let them be in all other instances. I mean what else am I going to spend my Latinum on?

Oh by the way, What a way to have a poll. The way its worded is your either with the op or a troll.

We need somebody to liven this up wheres @nebreeki?

They've already done so much to appease people like you and still you cry because they still exist at all? Get over it. The fact they wasted time making nullifiers is already kind of silly. They should have known that the people they were trying to appease with those wouldn't be satisfied with a half-measure.

^^This. You're not getting rid of the party balls. You're not getting them banned from social zones. They're a social thing. They made nullifiers for people who don't want to be forced to dance. I own them. I'll dance if and when I want to, but I'm not complaining about the use of the balls.

I only objected to their use during the memorial to Leonard Nimoy's passing. IMO, that was completely inappropriate. Others obviously felt differently. But the devs then set a limit on that by putting a no-party ball-zone around the statue.

There's nothing wrong with having the party balls in the social zones, that's what they were made for.
