in Star Trek Online General Discussion
mr gecko posted on his twitter that someone should "own their mistake".

he was not talking about STO, but it is interesting to know he feels this way.

    Interesting. What context was he speaking?

    Did another dev promise something that didnt come true and now they have to deliver on it? Was he refering to himself?

    Edit: okay, he wasnt talking about sto, how do you know this?
    I actually agree with the statement in abstract though, people should own their mistakes.

    So did Admiral Leeta say something crazy at the GOP convention? I'm avoiding coverage of both parties.

    Apparently, when Trumps wife gave her speech, it contained several direct quotes from a speech Mrs. Obama gave at the Democratic convention back in 2008. (without saying as much)
    Today, one of Trumps men said they were more a quote from one of the "My Little Pony" characters.

    go figure...

    o FFS. apparently no one can say your word is your bond or live up to your values now without ripping off Obama. like she was the first to ever say it.. it's a frigging political speech and some phrases are boilerplate. hell I used the word is your bond thing in every class i ever taught and i was saying it a long time before Obama said it on tv so the b*tch ripped ME off

    It wasn't so much the exact words that she used, but the order in which they were presented.
    If you look at the two speeches side by side, it IS pretty much a direct lift from the original speech.

    It's OK to do this (many politicians do it), it's just not ok to try and deny that it was done, when it's out there for all the world to see.
    And then to try and use a kids show to cover it up is even sillier.

    Yeah, LOL. I saw the side-by-side collage of it too: it was frickin' hilarious. :) It was unadulterated plagiarism, almost verbatim. And incredibly stupid too, for using the current President wife's words, for one, and then to be so lame as to deny you did.

    Well, if it isn't the batch of triggered American SJWs. Too bad you weren't so triggered over Nice attacks. But then again we don't know the motive for that one, right? Truck violence was it? Ban all trucks, that should fix it.

    I hear the RNC is one big safe space right now because actual cops couldn't have them carrying. Weird, how politicians can make stupid carry laws to show how small their weewee is by parading around with AR-15's, but actual law enforcement finds it to be too dangerous. Especially to them.
