Feedback from new expansion

Ok i don;t hardly complain about anything i'll keep this short and to the point. Why all the hype made for this expansion, with only a hand full of missions set in tos (and yes i realize more are probably on the way ) and now i am forced to grind yet another toon through the same bulk thats been out for years..... I mean i seriously considered buying the £99 temporal agent pack but after this no way. No option to instant level to 60 which i think there should be if we are left with the same content anyways, and whats most aggravating of all is tos is my fav period , i really enjoyed what little there was on offer in the expansion and suddenly im brought back to the same old grind i do on my other characters, yet im now forced and i say forced because its the only way to do that new temporal reward thing to play the same junk i been playing for ages.

Bottom line is this, the content already there was great in its prime, now its stale its boring, its slow, and really it just makes one think why am i even bothering, there is no reward for playing this game now, pure money sink.

Some if not all will likely disagree here , as i know fanboys will defend to there last breath, but let me use this as an opportunity to splash the devs with a little common sense and reality....

All in all great few missions set in tos era, but terrible execution and i don't see the point in even putting in a 23rd century character option, may as well just used the existing temporal device to throw our already leveled character back in time for a brief period .......

With the exception of the last exclusive episode (which I found a bit unbelieveable), I found it to be quite well done. Although, as a matter of ingame cost, and effort, it'd probably be more efficient to put a KT build together.

I will not level another character to 60 and then go through the specialisations - so am not doing the temporal reward.

Going TOS for a bit was fun, however doing the higher levels with a 60 was a pain as I missed one, and there was a lack of sense of a coherant story. Once again combat is interupted for comms, am I the only one that hates this?

It would have been nice for people using levelled characters if doing one mission lead to an invtation to the next, from the level 20 mission upward.

Aye, that was a bit annoying.

I do agree in part with you OP... great work on the new content devs, but releveling through 60 again is getting annoying and while the tokens shorten the rep grind, its still a grind... i've only done the reps on one toon to be totally honest, and i'm not even done with the one because its such a pain in the neck to grind...

never mind a grind is a grind, and when it comes to reps I get it, but since the bulk of the STFs are kinda floppish and getting tokens, be they marks, or specialized item, is kind of a pain to get because of the flopping STFs, can we get more areas like defera to grind these items? have some missions to get the various stuff... I do like the arenas in the delta quadrant....as a result i've maxed out that rep and gotten all the gear sets I want... i'm actually to the point of, if I do more i'm buying copies of gear I already have... Just saying...

Aye kinda part of my point really, the stfs need more variation for the rep side of things, more open areas possibly some random generated areas if possible anything to break the cycle of the grind, i wouldn't even mind grinding if there was more substance in the missions but there is just nothing there in stfs, it feels empty.

As for the new content as i say what the did in the new missions is actually great but i don't get the point of making an entirely new character to play a handful of missions when you don't even get to stay in the 23rd century, now im stuck with a toon from the 23rd century all the way into the future, and lets look at the sound effects which im also stuck with, i get shield and impact sounds in the future sounding like im still in my tos connie, again i love the sound effects etc but why drag the character into the future.

Its like so much effort has gone into building this 23rd century setting etc and for what ? just so we have to grind through the same old missions that have been mushed about 100,000 times..... It is in a way kinda heart breaking as a fan of trek and the game to see such laziness and lack of direction from the devs.

Also just found out that these temporal probes are random on each map, so thats added an even great grind to an already tedious situation i been stuck on kuveg, magh for 2 hours trying to find this damned probe :(

I have to echo the OP.
The AoY stuff was hyped a LOT. There were interviews and articles on the new content and the fact they were adding a fourth faction. But, really, TOS era folk have half as many missions and levels as the Klingons and Romulans before hitting the shared content. It basically just replaces the tutorial for the Federation faction.

I blew through the content with a friend (despite numerous, numerous glitches) in probably a couple hours and then hit the time jump. And was just stunned it was over already. A half-dozen missions and all related to the same theme of time travel. All Daniels all the time. No just plain missions in the TOS era. A single storyline. And now I have an alt I'm not going to play, since it requires grinding through content I've already done.

It really felt like this content should have just been for people's main toons via time travel to the past with some holotechnology. Y'know, like the Romulan mission. The extra faction bit really feels like just a cheap way of hyping the "expansion".
There wasn't all that much more content than in any of the other free mission updates to the game. I think there was more content and missions in the Delta Quadrant storyline (even excluding the patrols).

To say nothing of the very, very, very obvious stock dialogue pulled from old episodes. The Sulu one where there was even background noise was particularly painful.

    Hi all.

ok so i'll keep this simple and blunt straight to the point.
We all know that this game is a strategic game a one person shooter game as its Star Trek come on who wouldn't love this game you know what I mean. All the in game missions and content as well as the art and visual effects and sound affects are great and I really love the fact that you can leave the outer hull of the ship and head into the inner parts of the ship which here lies the problem:

Why in the hell would you create an inner part of the ship and not make it look futuristic/realistic and more to the point most of the doors are locked and only some rooms are accessible for example engineering bridge turbo lift and science department sick bay and the mess hall just to add a few.

Now what about astrometrics what about the cargo bays what about the transporter room and the briefing room and what about the shuttle bay and maybe interaction with some of the crew members and and accessing their quarters and much much more take a look at star trek voyager series and take notes of what they show on the ship corridors etc that what I would like to see inside the interior of the ships we fly more indepth detail when it comes to exploring the inside of the ships we buy ingame and in the c-store or with the lobi crystals and from the lockboxes

    1. Ship interiors are built as limited social zones. Social Zones are larger, but they are still very limited, in comparison to the structures they are "inside" of, not only because of limited needs, but because of limited capabilities of the game. If everything filled out "itself", and was also to scale, I don't think you would be able to comprehend the data needs of such large spaces.

    2. You'd get lost on larger ships/stations. With structures like a Dyson Spire, or The Vault, well........good luck. >:)
