It's terrible. The primary fire has less DPS than a split beam. The incredibly long delay between firing means that if your first shot doesn't quite kill something, you have to wait a couple of seconds before you can shave off that last bit of HP with a second shot, and most of the damage is "wasted". It's possibly the least effective Lobi weapon right now, and one of the less effective weapons in general, which is a shame because it looks cool. The secondary fire is okay, but if you want something as an alt weapon just to fire off secondaries, the Undine weapon is better. For 50 lobi you're better off with the vaadwaur rifle, herald staff, or undine weapon.
It's not a dpser, but spike dmg is never about dps. It one shots most enemies, and the secondary can be used in succession to the primary to clean up "boss" mobs with just two fires. A healthy module spamming build would benefit from it.
Among the larger and harder hitting weapons I would have to say that I personally find it appealing. Sure, it may not be the fastest among all the weapons but in its own category it fires faster than the Vaadwaur Polaron Assault Debilitator. And it surely hits hard and will decimate virtually anything you come across unless you're fighting a boss.
When fully upgraded and when accompanied with the proper kit and personal ground traits the weapon will hit for anything between 700 (non-crit) and 1400 (crit) when you aim.
How long exactly does it take to fire? The one hit thing sounds pretty neat but if it takes too long it will be borderline useless in battlezones & stuff where you're getting zerg rushed.
Spike damage of this variety is simply not useful in PVE, and it's not even the best weapon for that job; and having spike damage on both the primary and secondary fire makes it less useful than something with a quick primary and spike secondary, which gives you options. It's also not even REMOTELY useful for a module spamming build because the primary fire CYCLE is long, not just the delay, and you cannot use modules or do much of anything else until the cycle (1.25 seconds minimum) completes, which makes all module use feel very sluggish. You're better off with a pistol which has rapid fire cycles that can activate between module use. The same applies to secondary exploits for the same reason, they take much longer to go off than a standard high density beam and make this a poor weapon for any sort of reactive use. The low speed and single hit per cycle also means that if you're a tac, you will have a hard time getting strike team specialist to do anything. That's all on top of the fact that it does a little less DPS than a Breen CRM200, a cold-damage weapon that has actual advantages to offset its weaknesses. The boolean cannon is simply ineffective, and identifying (and admitting) why is the first step in hopefully getting it brought in line with other weapons.

Guess that's why they call it a boolean cannon: it's either hit or miss. :P
The ENORMOUS GUN is slow, and you want to get a feel for its timing when you use it.... With any sort of damage bonus (aiming or flanking, say), primary fire will likely drop an unshielded opponent with a single shot; for something tougher, secondary fire will mess them up pretty badly and knock them down, which gives you time to plan your next move.
I do PvE... I don't analyse my performance to the last detail, or even the next to last. But I have noticed that a lot of ground combats go significantly quicker once I bring this thing into play.
Besides, it is an ENORMOUS GUN, and therefore justifies itself.

The firing cycle is exactly:
0.5 second charge-up time
1.25 second fire (it hits once at the start, then continues firing the beam for over a second with no further damage) During his time (1.75 seconds) you cannot use modules or react in any way.
Then:
1.5 seconds delay before another fire cycle. During this last 1.5 seconds you can react and queued modules will begin to activate.
So 3.25 seconds between shots. In easy content, with a better weapon you can kill an enemy and move on to the next before the boolean cannon is ready for a second shot. In hard content, you want dps, and this weapon doesn't have it.
Looking for some new ground equipment, as my Omega ground set doesn't seem to cut it any more..
I was thinking of getting the new Boolean Assault cannon and paring it with the Nakhul personal shield you get from one of the time travel missions...
Anyone used it?
On the subject of the Nakuhl shield: it's an excellent shield and can be combined with the nakuhl set weapon, and the romulan imperial navy armor and kit for a well-rounded mix of resists, health regen, dps stats and emergency invincibility, using only free quest gear; I would just fill in the other weapon slot with something better.
2k+ unbuffed one hit hilarity from a derpy TOS toon. Would look epic on a gorn. Space Barbie is the real endgame.
Indeed... the damage of 700-1400 I spoke of was just from firing while aiming. That is to say, no buffs and the likes.
Suffice to say, the Boolean cannon is a fun weapon to try and and play around with. It can certainly fill that role just like any other unique weapon. However, for more sustained playing I would say there are most certainly better weapons out there. A setup that gets the work done regardless of targets is a full compliment of Herald staves for yourself and BOFFs.
The Jemhadar minigun also gets the work done but it has a shorter range and for that reason the Herald staff is better. So when it comes to having the strongest ground team I always go for Area of Effect weapons and most notably those with AOE on primary fire.
So if you already have a working team setup but is just looking to play around and can afford those 50 Lobi crystals then the Boolean cannon is certainly not a bad choice.

Anyone have any screenshots they can share of carrying it or in action?
