i just need to get this off my chest, i am soooo REDACTED mad that they added that Warbird as the lockbox prize, me and many other Rommies have been waiting for such a long time for a fullblooded Romulan carrier, and when the feds got the Jupiter (which i have had a lot of fun with) i honestly had hope for an RRF carrier, and when we finally get one, it is a REDACTED lockbox drop! sorry for the rant, but this just REDACTED me off sooo much! i have normally never had anything against lockbox ships. in fact, i own a lot of them, but that is because they were not faction specific, this just feels like an attempt to suck as much cash out of us RRF players as possible.
again, sorry for the rant.

well congrats, you lightened my mood a little

And as if that wasn't enough, for KDF and Rom's in particular, faction-specific ships are much, much more out of reach for most of us due to factional imbalances and the game's economy. They're both sitting in the 700 million credit range, and aren't likely to go below that any time soon, if ever. The only hope most of us will ever have for getting one of those ships is to see another infinity box flood with them included in the rewards, but even then they'll still likely hover around the 400-500m range, assuming they even drop much in price at all.
not related to topic.
will ignore.
Not saying Cryptic will or won't do that, but the opportunity is there.

yeah and all these people crying about people whining think they'ld get tired after a while.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
That would have been so -REDACTED-
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
Then again lockboxes on neverwinter are a lot better managed where as drop rates in STO are insanely low. If anything with the low populations of KDF and Romulan Republic there should be a better way to acquire these because most KDF are long time players that would do lockboxes to get quite a few of them but what it takes just to get 1 these days it'll be one of those great ideas on paper but will flop in their metrics especially with the insane pricing hitting head on with a record high dilithium exchange rate. The only other rant I would have is the ship masteries I'd love to use ships like the negh'tev and the kor on almost all my KDF but I just don't find the motivation to do it 20+ times for the same ship.
This has been established in other threads that AoY is NOT an expansion. It's a glorified tutorial.
As such, how can anyone expect to get faction specific ships in a pack tied to a federation tutorial? Has that ever happened? What's the precedent for such an action? That this new tutorial supplied ANY ships, let alone a pack with three faction neutral ships, seems to be kind of an amazing thing right?
When in the past has a revamped tutorial ever provided a ship pack? Let alone one so big and one that comes with 3 faction neutral ships?
The lockbox is a lockbox and would have been released as a lockbox regardless of anything else. It's July. Star Trek Beyond comes out in July so the July Lockbox is tied in to that and that lockbox has some faction specific alternatives.
But that lockbox isn't related to the AoY tutorial that was released.
So please tell me how this Tutorial is anything to be upset about? As far as Tutorials go, it's one of the best Tutorials in the game. And blows away the standard Fed Tut and the KDF Tut and I think is at least on par with the Rom Tut.
im confused as to how this is related to my rant, seeing as it was about feeling cheated out of finally getting an RRF carrier, can you elaborate on how this is relevant please?
Well the base complaint is that AoY didn't supply any faction specific ships. But AoY is just a ship pack tied into a Federation Tutorial. How could it possibly contain any Klingon or Romulan ships in it due to what it is?
It's not an expansion. It's a tutorial. And a tutorial for the federation. The ship pack contains only federation ships (and three faction neutral ships) because it's a federation tutorial.
And then the lockbox, is completely separate. And does have faction specific ships in it, but it was, has been and always will be another lockbox in a long line of lockboxes.
So I guess I simply don't understand your complaint. At all. You are upset that a Fed Tutorial didn't provide any Romulan ships? Why would it have?
i think you might have missunderstood me then, i was not complaining about "a fed tutorial not providing any romulan ships" im complaining about the Lockbox prize specifically being a Romulan carrier, something us RRF players have asked for since the Jupiter and a long time before that too.
And that would probably be based on the number of folks that actually play as a Romulan.
i.e. "Metrics" ...

So our KDF and Roms might finally have one (or two if including KSV) T6 Sci ships not lobi/lockbox/promo, they aren't even KDF or Romulan in design or in stats (battle cloak, singularity core and abilities)!
The significant difference between the release of the (still missing) Rom & KDF T6 sci and carrier is the kelvin box already contains a specialty ship Romulan carrier, meaning if they ever design a c-store ship, it'll be a very long ways away, and unlikely to be specialty, at least not full intel ship. It's also missing subsystem targeting unless they neglected to list it in the stats, and to me fails on design skin.
TL:DR it does not bode well still for KDF & Roms in the era of Feds.
Reality: I need to pay the plumber this month...not a game. LOL!

TL;DR: Romulan players have been waiting a long time for a proper carrier (2 hanger bays) that is not of alien design, and they add it through a lockbox instead of the store like they did with the Jupiter, and im REDACTED about it.
